Title: Change- Problem or Planned?
Text Acts 10-11
Main Idea- Change is inevitable but “God has no Problems in Heaven only Plans!”
I. Back Story of Change (Acts 10-11)
- V 28 Peter challenged by the Holy Spirit to radically obey God
- Cornelius a Roman Gentile was seeking God and His fullness
- Acts 11:1-3, 16-18 the Church leaders took issue
- Peter boldly advocates for the Gentiles and recounts the events
- Church leadership listened, they quieted down and glorified God! Wisdom prevails!
II. God’s Plans for Change Lead to Bigger Things (Acts 11:19-21)
- The church is severely persecuted and flees to Antioch
- PROBLEM- Who Moved My Cheese?! They continued preaching to the Jews
- God’s Change Plan- But Some preached to the Gentiles!!
- Vv. 21-22 The Hand of the Lord was on them and Jewish church leaders sent BARNABAS to Antioch- Son of Encouragement!
III. Change is Coming for God’s People and His Church (Acts 11:24-26)
- Antioch becomes the Second Great Center of Christianity to the known World!
- Change- God turns us upside down to turn us Right Side Up!
- The Spirit of God is Indispensable!
- Trust God’s Plan rather than Fear your Problem!
- Victory and New Freedom!
- Advocate for the new change
- Get in the Game
