2 Peter 1:12-21 - Peter wrote because of the danger of false prophets and teachers who seek to infiltrate the churches. Just as there was then, there are still people today who claim to be apostles and prophets. His desire was for his readers to remember and be established in the truth. The Holy Spirit has given us the whole of Scripture; we see much of it fulfilled in the life, death and resurrection of Christ, and we look for his appearing which is yet to be fulfilled.

Acts 4:31-5:11 - Is worship real for you or are you only pretending?

2 Peter 1:5-7 - In Christ we are new creatures. Peter says that you are to give all diligence to add to your faith.

Haggai 2:23 - The final verse of Haggai is prophetic and it is a message for the provincial governor, Zerubbabel. It shows us that as a servant of God, he had a higher calling. Furthermore, it is instructive for all who have heard the call of the Lord.

Genesis 1:2-2:3 - You are responsible to God because he is the creator and gives you life. We break his good law but he is gracious.

Acts 4:23-30 - "You must not teach or preach in the name of Jesus." Peter and John were banned from preaching in Jesus' name. How did they respond? What did they do next?

2 Peter 1:1-4 - In his second Epistle, Peter writes to people with like precious faith. It is a faith that has not been earned. Rather, it has been allotted to them by their God and Saviour Jesus Christ, who has bestowed to them all things that pertain unto life and godliness.

Romans 7:7-25 - Why are there speed signs by the roadside? They are to tell us what the law says. Drivers who go faster have their criminality revealed. So it is with the law of God.

Matthew 5:1-11 - This is perhaps one of the most misunderstood passages in the Bible. For example someone I was talking to about Jesus quoted some verses from the Sermon on the Mount and made application to himself. But, the man was not a Christian. This sermon is specifically for his disciples. It is only people who are trusting Jesus for forgiveness from sin can address God as Father. Jesus is the one who gives those who trust in him the right, the privilege, to call God Father. This sermon shows what a true Christian is and how a true Christian should live.

Romans 7:1-6 - In chapter 7, the Apostle Paul goes on to describe in a very personal way what deliverance from the law means.
