Matthew 21:28-32 - We need to understand what repentance is. Simply it is a change of mind. Jesus told of two sons. One refused to do what his father asked, but then changed his mind and obeyed.

Romans 4:13-16 - How many people think they are good enough? Sadly, many do not understand the righteousness of God.

1 Peter 5:10-14 -

Romans 4:1-12 - Paul has been teaching that no one is justified by law before God. We have all failed miserably. Only those who are trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ are justified. Paul gives an example of such a man, Abraham. Another man who wrote about this was David.

1 Peter 5:8-9 - Some teach that the Devil is not real but simply some abstract concept. However, in the wilderness, Jesus was tempted by more that a concept? Our adversary seeks to deceive and to destroy. You are to resist him not in the flesh but in the faith.

Haggai 2:6-9 - The glorious temple from Solomon's time lay in ruins. There was much they could have despaired about, but the Lord of Hosts had a powerful word of encouragement for them. They were to trust in the Lord, days of greater glory would come.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 - It is remembrance Sunday. We are very aware that many who were called to serve their country and lost their lives . We live in a troubled world, a world that needs reconciliation. But, that has to start with reconciliation with God our creator.

Romans 3:27-31 - The Gospel tells us that Jesus fulfilled the law. God's righteousness is the opposite of our sinfulness. However, all who believe in Christ are covered with his righteousness. As such, the Gospel is all about Jesus. Even the Old Testament saints were saved by the finished work of Christ and clothed in his righteousness.

Malachi 3:1-18 - What has the Lord given to us? Are we truly thankful? What do we give to the Lord? Do we give willingly and with joy?

2 Kings 6:8-18 - The King of Syria suspected that there was a traitor in his camp. However, there was no traitor - it was the Lord who gave his word to the prophet. Then the prophet's servant had a lack of faith. Alas, what shall we do. He saw the situation as hopeless. We can learn a valuable lesson from the words of assurance given to this servant.
