Great resume, one blemish, one costly blemish, how did a man who walked so close to God fail so flagrantly? Adversity had taught David self-restraint. Prosperity made him vulnerable.

The "go" of preparation is to allow the Word of God to examine us closely. Our sense of heroic sacrifice is not good enough. The thing the Holy Spirit will detece in us is our nature that can never work in His service. And no one but God can detect that nature in us.
