Book- Bedtime Bonnet by Nancy Red. Today I walk through a discussion on class meeting, it’s importance and how to represent Black History authentically within these contexts. It felt very much not like black people were put on the spotlight but that black people were given a role and line and everyone in the class contributed in the play.

Remember to recount your celebrations. The day may not have been perfect, but what was something that did work?

Routines/Procedures to use in my classroom:

Getting new marker/glue sticks before class starts

No sharpening pencils & no handheld pencil sharpeners. Put pencils cubby and whoever's job it is will sharpen it

Line order

Doorbell to get attention

CHAMPs

Reading buddies weekly

Having copies ready week before (and put them in tabs labeled for each day)

The trays for turning assignments in and the board where you write what goes where

The filing doo hickey that's blue with all the labels makes it easier for me to file students by name

My notes:

The beatitudes are the way in which Christ invites us to live in Micarious (happiness, blessedness) despite living in this evil world and this created and carnal body

Poor in spiritual their lives don’t promote their happiness independently of God

How blessed are those who know their need of God

How do you become mournful? Be around those who are mourning

It will cause you to be empathetic but it will also cause your heart to be shaped by vulnerability and not security. By you seeing others ñourning you recognize your limits of generotisty and it will cause you to go to God. It will eliminate materialism

Align yourself, associate yourself and connect yourself with those who are mourning (to those who are at the whims of the powerful, injustice, pain, etc)

Information does not incur transformation. Living is what develops transformation

Meekness- still before the Lord, not fretting

Even when you see those around you prospering, you wait for the Lord

Humble patience especially when provoked by others

Righteous - right living

Let this be the goal of my life. Lord give me a willing spirit to pursue this more than life.
