  • 32: Interview with the original Grace Warriors

Welcome back! Today we are interviewing the two other women that made up the original Grace Warriors, Andy Arbie and Julianne Lagerstrom! Join the four of us on this week’s podcast as we dive deeper into grace and finding your true identity in Jesus. This episode is unique because you can watch the entire episode from our Youtube channel! Today we discuss the power of relationships centered on Jesus and the impact of the Word of God within those friendships. Have you ever felt like it is so difficult to have deep friendships? We talk about how the enemy attacks our identity and purpose to keep us away from gospel-centered community. The enemy is always trying to tear down and destroy. We need women in our lives that we can be open, vulnerable and honest with when we forget truth. Do you have a group of women you can walk through life? God gives us His people to remind us of what His word says when life’s circumstances feel heavy and unknown! God’s word is the center point that leads us to understanding all things and that is why it is so life-giving to know and study His word often. Centering ourselves on God’s word allows us to take our agenda and lay it down at the feet of Jesus, trust Him, His plan is so much better!

  • 31: Good Soil - a little lesson in dirt!

As we have covered our hopes for 2021, we have shared that our deepest desire is for you all to fall in love with the Word and for the Word to take you deeper in your relationship with the Lord. Today, Sara and Kathy read and discuss the parable of the sower. They discuss the three different postures of heart and the three different types of ground Jesus talks about in the parable. As Christian women, at one time or another we probably fall into each category as we grow in our walk with the Father. The goal is for all of us to be good soil for the Kingdom of God. Good soil bears fruit and when we bear fruit our lives have eternal significance. God created us for this! Our Father is pursuing us all the time and He is a God who desires to save and restore. That’s why He sent Jesus! How amazing is it that he wants us to be a part of furthering His kingdom? We encourage you to dive deep into the Bible this week and revisit these verses Kathy and Sara discuss. Remember to live in freedom, victory, grace and your true identity in Jesus today!

  • 30: Hello 2021!

Happy New Year! We are so excited for this upcoming year and all of the plans we have for Grace Warriors! Today, Kathy and Sara talk about their vision for 2021 and the word God has given them for this upcoming year. Do you ever choose a word for the year? Many people do this and allow it to be a reminder throughout the year to keep them grounded when they get distracted or caught up in the busyness of life. What are some things you are dreaming about for this next year? In what ways do you need to realign your will with God’s will for 2021? If we learned anything from 2020, it’s that we’re not in control! We have found that the easiest way to handle a lack of control is to surrender. Your Father has good in store for you. He loves you and continues the good work He has begun. You can trust him with your 2021! Tune in today to be reminded God is always at work and always doing a new thing! We all come into a new year with new goals and set a vision for the upcoming months but taking time out intentionally to read God’s word and ask Him for a vision for our year WILL be transformative for our spiritual lives! Follow us on social media and leave us a comment or message with your word for the year. We can’t wait to go deeper with you all in 2021!

  • 28: Christmas Songs - Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Merry Christmas from the Grace Warriors! We know you are busy with all of the holiday shopping, wrapping and cooking but we want you to give yourself the freedom to pause, breathe and spend some time with Jesus! The Christmas song we are looking at today is a little different. Sara and Kathy talk about the differences between God and Santa. God isn’t like Santa at all, He doesn’t keep record of your wrongs and rights because of Jesus. Christmas time is the perfect time to remind ourselves of the true character of God and He doesn’t want perfection. He just wants obedience. The good news of the Christmas season is that redemption is completely one-sided. God comes near to us who don’t deserve it, who could never add up and calls us holy! He is Christ the Lord, our Savior. Take a few minutes in this season to see the gifts he has given you. Rest in the love of your Father. He adores you!

  • 27: Christmas Songs - Joy to the World!

Joy is something we can’t cultivate in our own strength. In our own power, we may be able to modify our behavior and be “happy” but that is a fleeting feeling. Joy is a way of living. It isn’t based on circumstances or situations. I am sure you know a few people in your life that have joy because when people exude joy, they stand out! Kathy and Sara spend today’s episode talking about the favorite Christmas song "Joy To The World”! God rejoices over us and as we look to scripture, joy is found over 100 times! Remember we can choose joy by recognizing the reason for our joy...salvation! We have no reason to not stand and sing with joy in our heart when we remember what Jesus has done for us!

  • 25: What should our focus be on this holiday season?

2020 is coming to an end and even though we may feel like we spent most of the year on the couch...every year, every day is a gift from God! We know all of our listeners are coming into this podcast in different places and backgrounds but we wanted to give a reminder and refocus our attention on Christ. Are we pleasing man or are we pleasing God with our lives? In this season, it is so easy to “people please” but remember, this behavior is the exact thing that depletes us as humans! Today, Kathy and Sara talk about the importance of doing what is best for you and your family this year. We are still in a pandemic and everyone’s holiday is going to look different and that is okay! This season is a healthy place to start placing loving boundaries in every area of your life! Respect others and respect yourself this holiday season and the best way to do this is to prioritize starting your day with the Lord. Slow down. Enjoy the differences these season will hold and relying on the Spirit to guide you to love people well!

  • 24: Mary and Martha - an invitation to sit at His feet.

With Thanksgiving being this week and Christmas being right around the corner, it is easy to get caught up in the little details and lose sight of what is the most important during this season...sitting at the feet of Jesus. Today Sara and Kathy dive into the story of Martha and Mary in Luke 10:38-42 and give some insight into the scripture. Do you ever feel over occupied and too busy? *Raises hand*. The interesting part of this story is that Martha serving is not a bad thing. It was the distraction and taking the serving too far that caused her to miss who was in her home. But don't worry, God is at work in EVERY story. Martha was unfortunately losing her joy but Jesus came to her in tenderness. Christ honors them as women and we see a beautiful picture of him meeting both women where they are. Don’t get caught up in having the perfect house and the perfect food this season. Instead, spend time at the feet of Jesus and watch him transform your holiday season by changing your heart and perspective. Choose Him and peace and joy will follow. Have a great Thanksgiving!

  • 23: Generosity is always in season!

As believers, what does it look like to be generous? Tis’ the season, right? It doesn’t always have to be money, it could be a giver of time, it could be allowing yourself to be generous in your prayers or even verbal affirmations to someone. Giving is always in season, especially around Christmas! This can be a little bit confusing because you may be a very generous person but not a giver and you may be a good giver but you may not be very generous. Today, Sara and Kathy talk about the difference between being generous and being a giver. There is a surprising difference! Have you ever been overly generous and allowed your family to go into debt? Many of us overspend during the holiday’s, putting ourselves in a financial bind that can cause a lot of anxiety. Being a good steward of the resources God gives us is important because none of it is ours to begin with! He paid the ultimate price, giving us the best gift of all, eternity with Him! As we enter the holiday season, let’s examine our hearts and ask the Lord to reveal to us places where we need to grow in generosity with our time, finances, and other resources.
