The Lord’s resurrection is a fact of history but also so much more than that! There is a direct connection between Jesus’ resurrection and our resurrection. Join Pastor Doug as he shares the resurrection story on this Easter Sunday.

As we hear from Pastor Doug on this Palm Sunday, the start to the holy week of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we see Jesus enter Jerusalem cheered as a mighty king, a victor over our enemies and foes.  He then is jeered by the crowds and finally he sheds tears for those who he loves who have rejected him.  At times we create Jesus to be who we want him to be.  But who is Jesus for you?  A humble king that allowed himself to be a lamb who was sacrificed? Or is your image of Jesus a stumbling block to your relationship with him and who he truly is?

The cross is at the heart of our Christian faith. We wear it around our necks, decorate our buildings, create masterful paintings and artwork to remind us that the cross is at the center of our faith. Extensive space in the bible is given to describing the death and sacrifices of Jesus’s death on the cross. The understanding of Jesus’s death on the cross is of utmost importance. There are images and metaphors used to help us understand what was achieved at the cross and this is what Pastor Doug invites you to hear today.

Join Pastor Doug as he starts a series of sermons on the cross as we are led to it in the upcoming weeks prior to Easter.  This week, we see how in 1 Corinthians chapters 1 and into chapters 3 and 4, at least 10 times there are references to foolishness about the cross and the believers who follow its message.  God’s plan may seem like foolishness, but to those who hear the message of the cross they come to know salvation, righteousness, and redemption.

The Sermon on the Mount helps us to understand what authentic Christian living looks like in a tangible manner. This is because we serve a loving heavenly Father and because of that he would not call us, his children, to do something we can’t do.
