We are people who believe in the sacrificial atonement of Jesus Christ for our sins. But are we also people who believe in how Jesus told us to live? The Sermon on the Mount starts with Jesus’s perspective on the law and the rest of chapter 5 expands our understanding of the law and what its all about. The Beatitudes are the introduction to the Sermon on the Mount and focus on the character of those who are in the kingdom of God. The first four beatitudes describe the internal transformation, that change of heart that happen when ones life is changed by their response to hearing the gospel. Sermon Series: The Upside Down Kingdom.

Join us as we begin a new sermon series on the Sermon on the Mount.  Today Pastor Doug will give you an overview of the sermon and then we’ll spend the next 10 weeks taking a deeper look into the greatest sermon ever preached.

How are you and I when it comes to peace? Are we at peace? If not, how do we gain peace?

Jesus was born with the announcement of peace. But the peace that Jesus gives is different than what we might expect and what the believers thought would come with his arrival. But in order to have peace in the world, it must begin within each one of us. Join Pastor Doug as he shares about our Prince of Peace who grants us peace with God and allows us to spread it throughout the world.

In Isaiah 9:6 God is given the names of Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Join Pastor Doug in this third week of our advent series as he shares teachings about our Everlasting Father.  Perhaps one of the most challenging names for us to fully understand, due to some of our misunderstandings and personal experiences with fathers coupled with our limited idea of God’s eternal love for us, Pastor Doug teaches who God is through this name.

Mark Twain is noted for saying, “In the beginning God made man in His image and every since then man has been trying to return the favor.”  This is because we try to create God in our own image. We try to try to put the term, God Almighty, into a term we feel better about. We try to create a place where we have some handle or can contain Him, so that we can keep Him at a safe distance. But we are called to surrender our lives to God and worship Him as our Almighty God.  Join Pastor Doug Monkemeier as he shows us who this mighty God is that is worthy and able to fight and provide for us.
