  • Romans 6 Our Defining Moment
This sermon explores the text of Romans 6.  While there is a part of the sermon that was lost in the recording, the biblical material is covered and I thought it was enough to go ahead and post.  I gave some more examples of defining moments from the Winter Olympics and talked about those moments of life in which we are given new names and life is forever changed like the moments of marriage and the birth of a child.  All of that to say, Paul addresses the defining moment for Christians in our text.

  • Romans 5:12-21 A Slathering of Grace
The recording of this sermon cut off early, so unfortunately the whole sermon is not available.  Yet what is here is understanding that through Jesus, God was able to turn the tide of sin and now grace and righteousness reign!  Please read Romans 5:12-21 and you might also want to view the video used in this sermon, it can be found here: https://thebibleproject.com/explore/sacrifice-atonement/

  • Romans 4: Walking in the Footsteps of Faith
What does it mean to share the faith of Abraham and to be his children?  That is the question that Paul explores in Romans 4 and one that we as the people of God walking in faith must understand to see ourselves as God sees us.  As we believe, we are walking in the footsteps of faith, in the footsteps of our father Abraham.

  • Romans 3:21-31 God's Solution in Jesus
This sermon explores the densely packed portrait of Jesus as God's response and solution to the sin problem of humanity.  In Jesus Christ, particularly in his death on the cross, God has displayed both His justice in dealing with sin and His love for humanity. What emerges is a new covenant family, of both Jews and Gentiles, characterized by a life of faith that reflects the faith of Jesus Christ.

  • Introduction to Romans
In this sermon we look at the Letter to the Romans as Paul's masterpiece, before we dive into it.  We consider the major themes and the genre of a letter and come this this conclusion: Paul viewed the Gospel of Jesus as an apocalyptic event that the Jews had been waiting for and that opened the door for a mission to the Gentiles. A New Age had dawned, and through his letter Paul wants to convince readers of God's faithful action and call us to participate in a new human experience - The Life of Christ - the Righteousness of God alive in US.
