In the Gospel of John (1:6ff), John the Baptist announces that Jesus is the light that is to expose darkness and transform our lives.  This sermon looks at what it means that the Light has come and has been born among us.  What are the real consequences of Jesus' coming for those who believe and live as chidlren of God?

This sermon looks at the opening verses of Mark centering on the prophetic ministry of John the Baptist.  John is portrayed by the Gospel writer as a very special person, one whose job was to proclaim the coming of the Messiah as a typology of the Old Testament prophets, namely Elijah.  Yet, what is to be gained from John's proclamation is a deep humilty that centers his message and his life on Jesus Christ.  

In this first sermon in our Preparing for Jesus series, we look at the different persons and their response to the Christ.  We ask the question, "What are we preparing for as we gather together?"  We see the different responses to Jesus and wonder who we most resemble in the story, and more importantly, who should we desire to be like in the sotry.  Salvation is here, at hand, and let us not miss it or get distracted from it.  

A sermon that explores Psalm 100.  

During our Friends and Family Day gathering, we all dressed in our favorite sports team's gear...or other casues that we support...and the purpose of this was to illustrate our diversity.  Yet, in Christ Jesus we are all drawn into ONE church together, even in our diversity.  So, this is a celebration of our unity in our diversity.  

Focusing on the Gosepl of Luke and the second volumn of Acts, we focus on the Story of Jesus as his love shocks us, His teachings summon us, and His Holy Spirit is poured out to send us.  

Passing down a faith legacy is different that inheriting a family estate, a faith legacy is living and is often handed down in a context of several generations present at once.  This sermon explores the tricky and tension-filled notion of passing down a faith legacy acknowledging how wonderful and joyful the experience can be for a church community!  

This sermon is a quick look at the different generations and what they add to our church body.  

We start a new Series entitled Generation to Generation where we look at the biblical mandate to pass on the faith and some of the particular challenge that we face in fulfilling that given the contemporary culture.   This sermon shows that there were always different groups in the church, but the church is a sacred space in which each group must come to understand itself under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and create a culture that upholds His ideals.  Looking at 1 Corintians is a great example of how Paul connects to a church of diverse groups, which we have in the intergenerational fellowship of the American Church.  Can the generations seek understanding and work together?  Of course they can...and we are church dedicated to making this happen.
