Is man created in the image of God, or is God the invention of man? Who made who?

As we continue with Genesis, we enter the Creation Week, an account many immediately reject. However, we will see that the origin of the species determines the destiny of the species. If we came from nothing, where are we going, and even more concerning, why?  If we came from God, then the rest of Bible unlocks the answers to all the other questions.

Last week we talked about being renewed in the “spirit of our mind.”  We focused on the negative things we must “put away” in order to have a new way of thinking. Today we will look at one of the greatest agents of renewal, forgiveness. Guilt and bitterness are two incarceration maladies that are both destroyed by the power of forgiveness. You can be free again!

As we begin a new school year, I want to revisit our 2019 theme, “Renewed”. We need a refreshing from above; a reboot, if you will, of God’s perspective. Thoughts gender feelings which result in actions. Let’s be renewed in “the spirit of our minds” today.

Last time we looked at the will of God and how we can know it. I want to step further down this path and look at the very practical aspects of doing God’s will. What hinders us and why should we even bother with following His will? These are questions we will answer.

We have come to the last chapter in our Faith Works series from the Book of James. To culminate the incredible truth he has laid out in this book, James emphasizes the power of our words, especially in expressing our faith in prayer. As I often say, prayer is not getting our will done in heaven, but getting God’s will done in and through us on earth.
