  • Imposter
'Imposter' is taken from my 10th solo album, ORDER CHAOS. We all seem to have dopplegangers - I've even been told I look like Pete Townsend (from a distance)! It seems that the Action Man With A Giraffe's Head also has one (well, he is famous, after all - he can't walk down the street without being recognised). But, The Imposter better look out, as someone's on his case!
Album due out 13th October, 2022.

  • Roundabout
I decided to write a song that reflected my mood/feelings/outlook in these very uncertain times. Trying to stay positive in attitude, I gave it a 'fairground-feel', which fitted well with the words (although it is probably too literal). Still, here it is. A shortened version of, what will become, a track from this year's new album - 'ORDER CHAOS' - to be released October 2022.
Indeed, life is like a roundabout...

  • The Verb (To Be)
A track from my last solo album, FROM THE FRONTAL LOBES, TO THE BACK OF BEYOND (2021). Slow, moody, atmospheric & full of electronics, it has a haunting melody that keeps drifting off into the mix. Perfect for a dreamy day to get away from it all - just what we want for these times.
This particular piece was recorded back in 2009, but not edited & released until Feb. 2021.

  • I Can't Do A Feng With My Shui
Taken from the upcoming album, 'Alphonso & His Dining Room Happening', this is a humorous nostalgic-sounding song (think The Temperance Seven) about the contemporary subject of organising space. Dance band meets electronics. It doesn't work, but it does.

  • Ken, You're Just Plain Weird! (Radio Edit)
This is the Radio Edit version of 'Ken, You're Just Plain Weird', from the new album, SWITCHED-ON BECK (released 13th October 2020). It's about identity, image & not taking things for granted...& also, it's a fun song!
Make of it, what you will...& dance about a bit!!

  • The Day I Thought I Was A Slush Puppie
A track from the new album, 'SWITCHED-ON BECK', (released 13th October 2020), The Day I Thought I Was A Slush Puppie is simply that. What would it be like to be a Slush Puppie, continually going round, & round, & round? The jury is out...

  • Ships In The Sky (final album Version)
This is the final album version of the track, 'Ships In The Sky'. It's taken from my 7th solo album, SWITCHED-ON BECK (released on 13th October, 2020).
The part-instrumental, is dedicated to the wonderful mosaic mural, designed by Alan Boyson (originally entitled 'Three Ships'), & was constructed above the Co-Operative Society building in the centre of Hull, East Yorkshire, in 1963. The front of the building was later taken over by British Home Stores, until it closed in 2016. The massive mural, & incidentally the UK's largest mosaic mural, towers over the city centre, & was/is land-marked for demolition (to make way for redevelopment), but has now been given a Grade II Listed Status, by Historic England. However, there is an ongoing debate about it's future. It needs to be saved, as it is impressive, unique & IS part of Hull.
I have tried to convey the different moods, & conditions of, the water/sea, & the majesty that is the Three Ships mural.
I hope it does it justice...& I do hope that it gets preserved, & remains a part of Hull.

  • Majorettes In The Mosh Pit
    An early version/radio mix of the track, Majorettes In The Mosh Pit, from the newly-released album, 'Switched-On Beck' (Oct. 13th 2020) - . It's dancey. It's foot-stomping. It's a marching band-based thingy. It's electronic. It's grunge. It's short.
