First, The plaintiff gave her grandson, the defendant, a loan to help with rent, but he hasn’t yet paid her back, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant admits he asked for the money, and he claims he has every intention of paying it back.

Then, The plaintiff met the defendant years ago in high school and claims he paid him for a lawn mower. The plaintiff later learned the lawn mower was stolen, so he’s suing for a refund. The defendant admits he knew the lawn mower was stolen, but he disclosed that information to the plaintiff when he purchased it. The defendant is countersuing for harassment.
