First Smart and now Grant. Both of the Celtics bulldogs have officially been moved. Grant Williams was moved to Dallas in a 3 team trade that brought back 2 future second round picks alongside a future second round pick swap as well as a 6.3Mill TPE. Now, this move on paper seems like a cap saving move freeing up approximately $40Mill between salary and luxury tax BUT this to me seems like Brad is gearing up for another splash.
After turning a first round pick in this years draft into 4 future second round picks and Jordan Walsh, Brad just added 2 more second round picks and a pick swap into the mix. These are all bargaining chips in trades and I wouldn't rule out another big name coming back. No, I do not mean Damian Lillard but the Celtics have the assets to bring back a really good rotational piece.
