Hey guys, for this week’s vlog, I talk about my advice to anyone feeling survivor’s guilt from losing a friend or loved one to suicide from my own perspective of having been close to committing suicide.
This has been one of the toughest videos I’ve made to date because it’s the first time I acknowledge that I was close to committing suicide to the general public (prior to this, only some of my closest friends knew this).
While in this video I don’t talk about the situation/circumstances that led me to being in that point of my life (maybe one day I’ll do that, just not today), I just want to put myself out there to anyone who is dealing with mental health issues and say I am a resource for anyone who wants to talk on a personal level and learn about my story and just hear how I've gotten myself to a better mental health state.
I also want to say I am also happy to speak publicly about my mental health experience to any high school, college, or company wanting to bring in a mental health speaker.
If you find this video helpful or know anyone dealing with survivor’s guilt, I would appreciate you sharing this with them.
If you are someone who has survived the loss of a loved one/friend to suicide, and you have something that you wish was answered, please feel free to DM or comment your question.

In this vlog, I talk about the importance of understanding the perspective of the person giving you advice.
I give the example of my friend who brings up the idea to her parents of starting her own business. Her parents were shocked and immediately told her it was a bad idea, and she didn't know anything about running a business.
I talk about how the advice she received from her parents is really just a projection of fear that her parents have based on if they were asked to start their own business.
