Text:  John 1:35-46;  Matthew 22:1-14   Opening:  When and where was your latest Invite?   - The Purpose of the Invite:   - The purpose is to make guest aware of the event and to get their attention.   - The act of inviting someone communicates:   - I like you. - I like being around you. - I appreciate what happens when you join in.     - The Priority of the Invite: Why do people attend church?   - 86% attend because a Friend invited them. - 6%  attend because the Pastor invited them. - 6%  attend because of the Church outreach programs. - 2%. Attend because of advertisement, mail, flier.     - The Power of the Invite:  John 1:35-46   Jesus invited His disciples to:   - Come and See I do, you watch - Come and Be I do, you help - Come and Do You do, I help - Come and Go You do, I watch     The Invite from GOD:  Matthew 22:1-14

RESET

Scripture:  Philippians 3:12-14   RESET = to set again or differently:  to start from zero.   The Goal of a runner is to win the race.   Running the race:  The Christian life is not a sprint, it is a marathon.   The Goal of a Christian is to know Jesus and to become like Him.   1.  It starts with an awareness that you have not arrived yet.  v. 12   2.  It continues with an attitude of giving it your all.  vs. 12-13   3.  It finishes with your arrival in heaven.  v. 14     RESET:  Goal is to know Jesus and to become like Him.

The greatest invitation you can experience is found in Jesus Christ and the Gospel message. Special guest Steve Foster, an evangelist, spoke to Gratis Church about the importance of having a blessed assurance in Jesus and salvation. Today is the day of salvation.

John 8:28 John 3:14-15 Numbers 21:4-9 John 12:32-33   There are three times in the Gospel of John that mention Jesus being lifted up.   - What does it mean “to be lifted up?" - Why is it necessary for Jesus to be lifted up?   1.  John 8:28.
