The dads talk about modeling gratitude and joyfulness, rather than self-pity and criticism…some of the biggest causes of ingratitude and grumbling in a family…how to lovingly and consistently correct complaining…and the strategies that have helped them the most to create a thankful spirit in their homes.

  • The Sign of Jonah
The sermon explores the biblical narrative of Jonah to illustrate God's sovereign mercy and the futility of human rebellion against His will. By comparing Jonah's three days in the fish to Christ's resurrection, the text highlights Jesus as the ultimate sign and Savior who calms the storms of judgment. The preacher emphasizes that salvation is entirely of the Lord, demonstrated by the repentance of the wicked Ninevites which displeased Jonah but pleased God. This contrast reveals that God's compassion extends even to enemies, challenging believers to abandon selfishness and embrace His universal grace. Ultimately, the message calls for a posture of gratitude and service rather than judgment toward those whom God saves.

  • God's weather
This is God's world, and it is God's weather. We accept that man as a steward of God's world may have some influence on climate, but we acknowledge God as the Master. That means that mankind is not the original or terminal authority or responsbility for the weather. It is God's weather absolutely and rightly, and he has established the stable framework and sends the particular elements. It is God's weather generously and graciously, because he cares for the world which he made and the people who dwell in it. And, it is God's weather purposefully and sovereignly, as he sends it for blessing and mercy, or in cursing and judgment. We, then, must take care how we think about, speak of, and respond to God's weather, but most of all we must ask about the relationship we sustain to the God of the weather, the God who made this world.

  • Undeserved Grace, Gratitude, and a Renewed Will COD 3-4:15-16
Canons of Dort Heads 3-4, Articles 15-16 ARTICLE 15 – God owes salvation to nobody. The believer, therefore, owes eternal gratitude to God and must pray to God for others who remain in unbelief. God is under no obligation to confer this grace upon any; for how can He be indebted to one who had no previous gifts to bestow as a foundation for such recompense? Nay, how can He be indebted to one who has nothing of his own but sin and falsehood? He, therefore, who becomes the subject of this grace owes eternal gratitude to God, and gives Him thanks forever. Whoever is not made partaker thereof is either altogether regardless of these spiritual gifts and satisfied with his own condition, or is in no apprehension of danger, and vainly boasts the possession of that which he has not. Further, with respect to those who outwardly profess their faith and amend their lives, we are bound, after the example of the apostle, to judge and speak of them in the most favorable manner; for the secret recesses of the heart are unknown to us. And as to others who have not yet been called, it is our duty to pray for them to God, who calls the things that are not as if they were. But we are in no wise to conduct ourselves towards them with haughtiness, as if we had made ourselves to differ. ARTICLE 16 - Regeneration by the Holy Spirit does not take away the will of man so that he becomes just a "senseless stock and block", but it renews the will of man, enabling him to make a responsible confession of faith. But as man by the fall did not cease to be a creature endowed with understanding and will, nor did sin which pervaded the whole race of mankind deprive him of the human nature, but brought..

  • The Supremacy of Christ | Colossians 3:12-17
Pastor Caleb Farrow preached from Colossians 3:12–17, reminding the church that those who have been chosen and loved by God are called to put on the character of Christ. Because our identity is rooted in the gospel rather than our performance, believers are to pursue compassion, humility, forgiveness, and love as they live in authentic Christian community. As the peace of Christ and the Word of God shape our hearts, our lives should be marked by gratitude, unity, and a desire to glorify Jesus in everything we do.
