  • Your Feed Is Feeding You

Have you ever picked up your phone to check one thing, and twenty minutes later you're still scrolling? You didn't decide to spend twenty minutes there. You didn't make a plan. You just picked it up — and when you finally put it down, you're rarely more peaceful. You're usually more distracted.

Your phone may be a tool, but it is not neutral. Every day, it's presenting you with ideas about what deserves your attention, what to fear, what to want, who to admire, and who to become.

What captures your attention eventually captures your heart. Attention is the currency of discipleship — and whatever consistently receives yours gets an opportunity to form you.

This week, we're kicking off our new series, Shaped, by facing a simple truth: what you consume is slowly shaping what you become. It's time to audit your inputs.

  • We Enjoy our Journey Best When we Focus on Jesus

Life is a journey — mountains, valleys, vista points, and a whole lot of weight we weren't meant to carry.

As we close out our Enjoying the Journey series, we look at Hebrews 12:1-2 and the race that's set before us. The writer of Hebrews knew what it was like to grow tired — to feel the pull to quit. His answer wasn't try harder. It was lay aside the weight, and fix your eyes on Jesus.

Some of what we're carrying is sin. Some of it is simply weight — things that aren't wrong, but still slow us down. Either way, the course isn't what defeats us. The unnecessary weight does.

Jesus never asked us to carry it alone. He carried the cross so we wouldn't have to carry the guilt. Guilt points to the brick. Shame carries the brick. Jesus takes the brick.

This week, we're reminded that we enjoy our journey best — not by running faster or carrying more — but by keeping our eyes on the One who's already run the race for us.

Lay aside the weight. Fix your eyes on Christ. Keep running your race.

  • Growing Beyond Failure

Failure shows up in everyone's life at one time or another. A broken relationship. An unfulfilled dream. A moment you acted on impulse instead of trusting God.

Moses knew that story well. He killed a man, was rejected by his own people, and spent the next forty years running — from a prince in Pharaoh's palace to a shepherd in the wilderness of Midian. By every human measure, his first attempt at leading was a failure.

But God doesn't waste our failures. He uses them.

In this message, we trace Moses' journey from the palace to the desert to the burning bush, and discover that failure isn't a reflection of our worth or our relationship with God — it's often the very place He does His deepest refining work. God chooses imperfect people, refines them before He uses them, and remembers His promises even when everything looks hopeless.

What looks like an ending in your life may be exactly where God is starting something new.

  • Walking Without A Map

God told Abraham to leave his country, his family, and everything he had ever known — and go to a land He would show him later.

No route. No timeline. No guarantee of what was ahead.

    That's still how He works.

In this message, we look at what Abraham's call reveals about how God leads His people. Most of us don't struggle because God hasn't spoken — we struggle because He hasn't told us everything. But certainty was never the prerequisite for obedience. Faith is.

God's word is a lamp, not a stadium light. He gives just enough for the next step. And every step of obedience reveals more of Him than you could have seen standing still.

Abraham never received a map. He received something infinitely better — the presence of God. And that's enough.

  • The Legacy You Leave

Every table leaves a legacy. The question is not whether you're leaving one — but what you're leaving behind.

Most fathers aren't trying to fail their families. They're working, providing, showing up, keeping their heads above water. But here's the tension: you can be successful in the things that matter least while failing in the things that matter most.

Our culture asks what college your kids got into, how much they make, how big the house is. Psalm 78 asks a different question: are you passing faith to the next generation?

Legacy isn't created in a moment. It's built in the ordinary — a dinner table, a bedtime routine, a car ride, an apology, a habit, a priority. Children don't become what we intend. They often become what we model. They learn what matters by watching what matters to us.

The Bible's vision of legacy isn't what you leave to people. It's what you leave in them. Money disappears. Property changes hands. Faith travels generations.

A father may leave a million dollars — or he may leave a son who knows how to trust God. One is valuable. The other is eternal.

One day nobody will care what was on the table. They'll care who is around it.

  • The Order of the Table

Every table has a dynamic. And when nobody knows their role, everybody feels the tension.

We live in a culture that is deeply suspicious of order — especially in marriage. Words like "submission" and "leadership" land like fighting words. But Paul isn't writing a power manual. He's describing a picture of something far more beautiful: a marriage that reflects the way Christ loves the church.

In Ephesians 5, Paul calls husbands and wives into something radical. Not a hierarchy built on control, but a partnership built on sacrifice. Mutual submission. Servant leadership. A love that lays itself down and a respect that chooses to honor even when it's hard.

When God's design gets ignored, relationships don't just get complicated — they drift. Slowly. Quietly. Until nobody remembers how they got so far from each other.

But when two people sit down at the table and ask "how can I serve you?" instead of "what do I deserve?" — everything changes.

God's design for marriage was never meant to create tension. It was meant to end it.

  • The Missing Seat at the Table

Every family has an empty seat. A prodigal son. A wayward daughter. A relationship that went cold. Someone who walked away and hasn't come back yet.

In Luke 15, Jesus tells what we've always called the Parable of the Prodigal Son — but it's actually the parable of two sons. And if you only follow one of them, you'll miss the radical message Jesus is after.

The younger son takes his inheritance early, wastes it, and ends up in a pig pen. The older son stays home, does everything right, and ends up just as far from the father's heart. Both had a place at the table. Both walked away from it — just in different directions.

What this parable shows us is a Father who runs. Who doesn't wait for you to clean yourself up before He embraces you. Who goes out to the bitter son standing outside the party just as eagerly as He ran toward the lost one coming up the road.

God's rescue mission in your life may not start at your best moment. It may very well start at your worst.

No matter how far you've gone or how long you've been away — you are welcome at the table.

  • Words at the Table

You probably didn't wake up this morning planning to wound anybody with your words. But somehow, by the end of the day, tone crept in. Sarcasm landed wrong. Silence spoke louder than you meant it to. And the atmosphere in your home shifted — not because of some big blowup, but through the daily cuts that nobody tracks.

The atmosphere of your home is carried in your voice.

Proverbs 18:21 says death and life are in the power of the tongue. Solomon doesn't say words are important — he says they're powerful. In Hebrew thought, words created realities. And Paul tells us in Ephesians 4:29 that every conversation is either construction or decay — you're either building your home or slowly damaging it.

This message is not about communication tips. It's about a spiritual reality: your mouth leaks your heart. And if Jesus has transformed your heart, He should be transforming the tone of your table too.

Because the people you love most deserve to hear grace — not just feel it.
