This week, we define the operation of the Evangelist and Prophet in our series covering the different offices in the body of Christ. Every office and calling has a God-ordained function. No where in scripture does God tell us that certain callings will be eliminated or become irrelevant in the modern church. If we want a God-inspired church, there is no other standard than scripture.

Why can we seem to hear God clearly on some things, and not on others? Why are parts of our life full of freedom, while in other parts we remain confused and bound by failure. Discipleship requires a yielding of our will to God's will, but we are unable to see past the things we won't surrender. Our will blinds us to His, but if we'll remain humble, He will heal our blindness.

As part of our continuing series on the offices in the body of Christ, in this message we explore the office of the "teacher." What are teachers in the body called to do and how do they help build up the body of Christ as a whole? Correct biblical teaching is essential for the body of Christ to grow correctly. If we feed on poor teaching, we limit what God can accomplish through us.

1 Peter 2:2 - As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.

Spiritual growth is a part of being a disciple of Christ. There is no way around it. So what is spiritual growth really? And how do the gifts and callings in the body of Christ assist the Holy Spirit in the job of maturing the saints. This message begins a new series on defining the offices in the body of Christ, and how we each individually grow up into what we're called to do.
