Great Disturbances

Paul and Rich start down the path of things that have Star Wars DNA in them, whether they be films or novels or TV that inspired Lucas to make the original, or stuff that came out post Star Wars and was inspired BY it.  This week we start with Denis Villanueve's Dune Part I adaptation.

Please note that there are no mentions of Christmas in this episode.  Not that there's anything wrong with Christmas.  Or if there were, we wouldn't be discussing it, is more to the point.  Regardless.  No Christmas stuff, but there is, however, more discussion of the possibilities laid before us by the advent of the first ever Jedi droid.  Paul and Rich dream up what could have been in an alternate universe where Skippy didn't self destruct.

Paul and Rich roll out their newest episode subtitle.  You have the "Saga" episodes.  You've got "Cantina Chats" now witness the full power of this fully armed...Mini Infinities episode! We've riffed on this a few times, but now it's got it's own sub-title, and in the first official Mini Infinity, we take a look at what could have been if Luke hasn't met Obi-Wan on Tattooine all those years ago...

Paul and Rich head back to the Cantina and ponder a Star Wars rarity: a short story about the TRUTH behind R5-D4.  What REALLY happened to that little droid?  Was he assassinated by higher powers who had designs on Luke and his destiny?  Was R5-D4 an unwitting aide-de-camp to some dark power?  OR...was he a Jedi?

Rich and Paul once again dive into the realms of possibility for a second helping of the vastly interesting Star Wars Visions anime show from Disney+.  This set definitely hits some of their wheelhouse, and sparks some interesting navel-gazing.
