I sat down with Premier Danielle Smith yesterday. This was an opportunity of a lifetime for me. I am a massive Danielle supporter, and yes we do not agree on everything, but where we agree most is that much of damage that's been done to this country the past 11 was solely due to its blatant disregard and vilification of our energy sector. One could argue out of control immigration as well.... I never thought I'd see the day where Alberta would get to vote on its very future. Been hearing this for decades. It is here. And regardless of your stance, vote with passion. Danielle is taking it from every angle right now, and I feel she's walked a tightrope like no other premier in history. This week is epic. Can this referendum bring the change that is needed????

Albertans, How will you vote?

I sit down for the second time with Keith Wilson of Let Alberta Decide. I have a few more guests this week that i think you'll enjoy. This is easily the most important time in Alberta's history since 1905.

Stacy Allen is a local Calgarian hockey jugernaut in the coaching world. She has been slowly and steadily building her book of business of up and coming wannabe superstars. Her specialty, is Powerskating. But it doesn't just stop there, she's no slouch with the puck, having been part of the group of female pioneers before the arrival of the PWHL. Stacy belongs to a special group of elite athletes coming out of the University of Alberta where her team was inducted to Hockey Hall of Fame for a Dynasty Team in 2019.

We had a fascinating discussion on her rise, where it all began playing with the boys, AND hitting with the boys. She later parlayed this into a career, but it was no easy path. We dissect many of the differences between the boys and the girls on the ice and even the mechanics of how girls can skate vs the boys.

Sit back, relax and please enjoy this Great Northern Discussion.

I had Kels back in the studio, to unpack some of her more recent findings, namely we get into the hottest topic on the globe right now, and that is ai data centres. Kels is a spiritual soul, who isn't afraid to seek the truth, and share her findings rightly or wrongly, but as you will find after this episode, it's starting take a toll on her. Is there a pivot in her future??

Patrick Burns was a Canadian politician, rancher, meat packer, businessman, and philanthropist. A self-made man of wealth, he built one of the world's largest integrated meat-packing empires, P. Burns & Co., becoming one of the wealthiest Canadians of his time. He is honoured as one of the Big Four western cattle kings who started the Calgary Stampede in Alberta in 1912. He worked in the meat industry and owned cattle ranches. Burns's 700,000 acres (2,800 km2) of land in Southern Alberta extended from Cochrane to the US border. In 1931, he was appointed to the Canadian Senate as a representative for Alberta. On October 16, 2008, the Calgary Herald named Burns as Alberta's Greatest Citizen. Dean Burns is a descendant of Pat's and I sat with him to ride through the historical journey of Pat coming to Calgary with nothing but a shirt on his back, and a determination to succeed. Dean is a historical juggernaut with a wealth of knowledge, and is a successful entrepreneur himself right here in Calgary. This was a phenomenal discussion and if you're a history buff, this one is for you!

Keith Wilson is a prominent Alberta constitutional and rights lawyer based in Alberta. He is well-known for his advocacy work, including landowner rights, and for co-chairing "Let Alberta Decide," a prominent campaign pushing for provincial independence. We deep dive into the topic of a potential "Yes" vote in the upcoming October Referendum, when it flipped for Keith and finally got him on board with thought of separating from Canada, the legal pathway, what would happen to investment, the 400bn dollar price tag Danielle Smith Claims it would cost, and so much more. Keith is calm, concise, extremely likeable and an excellent communicator. This is easily the most informative discussion I've had on the subject to date. If you have questions, I believe plenty will be answered for you in this episode!

Rebecca MacIntosh moved to Olds, Alberta from rural Ontario in hopes of living the small town life. Surrounded by like-minded neighbours, from blue collar, to farmers and ranchers former corporate hustlers and nature, LOTS of nature. Enter Synapse Data Center-the largest hyperscale ai hub of its kind currently proposed for Bek's new lovely town. The catch? It's IN TOWN. Literally. She is currently the loudest voice vehemently opposed to this project, given the sheer size, over 300 acres, and power required to run this thing. The power includes over 600 diesel generators, a battery plant, and water, lots and lots of water, for cooling. We dive into exactly what this beast is, and its potential harms but most importantly the speed at which this thing is being proposed to approval. She is wondering, where exactly is the scrutiny, when is our world famous regulatory framework going to enter the fray? So far, it has not. Is there corruption going on here? Why the big push? Is this simply a provincial agenda for Danielle Smith in conjunction with Mark Carney and the Global Elites? Or is this simply a town looking to cash in? Before this sit down, I had virtually no knowledge on this subject and I wasn't necessarily opposed to data centres, but building one of this size and magnitude so close to town, raises many question.

We get into it all folks. This will not disappoint!

The Alberta Referendum looks to be on the horizon thanks to the legal threshold of obtaining AND surpassing the 177K signatures required to trigger it. The @RealCTZN boys stopped by so we could dissect all things Canadian Politics, and of course Alberta politics, given we are Podcast neighbours here in the province. We also get into Mark Carney's performance thus far, and his green ideology and how that could potentially affect Canadians. Pierre Poilievre's podcast performance and even a bit of golf!! Always love hanging with Jeremy and David, we will definitely be hanging lots more in the future this is a great northern discussion!

Chanse Vigen makes his return to the studio for the second time, AFTER his return to the Podium for the 3rd Time! He was joined by his lovely wife Brie Vigen in the studio, and was happy to provide Chanse some moral support, as the "Rangeland Derby Rockstar" was completely hungover! (Racing Season was a few days away)

Chanse has pulled of 3 World Titles in a row for the Chuckwagon Driver of the year honours, and is gunning for his 4th this season putting himself into elite status territory. He's a good ole Albertan boy through and through, and I was delighted to sit down with the champ and share some vino & dip packets, while swapping some good stories.

We hammer down on some of Chanse's races, his scary Wagon flip from last season, his busted up ankle, the elusive Calgary Stampede Dash for Cash, and naturally (as I tend to do) it veers off into politics a tad. Alberta Separation does come up again in this one, as does our Oil Patch. In addition we touch on the "I'm Your Huckleberry" initiative started by Brie, that gives back to families in need. They've partnered this season with Paul Van Ginkel, a Calgary artist, who painted a stunning re-capturing of Chanse and his hoses mid-race from a previous still photo, taken by Shellie Scott. It is insane! There will be many size variations available for purchase with the proceeds also going to the "I'm Your Huckleberry" charity.

I'd say Buckle Up, but it's a given for this one!
