Today, we move into the sixth episode of a series on quotes that coaches should NOT use in their own personal development or with their teams. Today we cover some quotes that deal with the use of sarcasm and quotes that limit your people in any way. I wish I had heard something like this in my early years of coaching because, boy, did I ever use BOTH of these kinds of statements as a young coach.
Don't forget that I would like you to send in a statement or two that you have heard or used that you know we should not be using as coaches! Please email me with them at [email protected]. The more we can get out there for coaches to be aware of, the better off we will all be.

Today, we move into the fifth episode of a series on quotes that coaches should NOT use in their own personal development or with their teams. Today we cover some quotes that deal with conditioning and punishment elements of your practices. In the last couple of episodes, I talked about quotes that were dominated by the pronouns "I," "me," or "my." You will hear that in one of the quotes today, but these are focused more on the punishment that we coaches dish out and what we often say when doing that. I also spend a good portion of today's episode talking about a concept that I learned from Coach Bruce Brown of Proactive Coaching called "Positive Conditioning." If you have never heard of it or done it, it will rock your world. (Although I don't go into too much detail on it in today's episode. If you're interested in hearing more about Positive Conditioning, reach out to me at [email protected], and I will connect with you about it.)
Speaking of my email address, I am still wanting you to send in a statement or two that you have heard or used that you know we should not be using as coaches! Please email me with them at [email protected]. The more we can get out there for coaches to be aware of, the better off we will all be.

Today, we move into the fourth episode of a series on quotes that coaches should NOT use in their own personal development or with their teams. Today we continue to cover some quotes that start with or are dominated by the pronouns "I," "me," or "my." Last week, the quotes focused on the concept that, "It's not about YOU, coach!" This week, I focus on two statements that end up being excuses for coaches to fall back on and then a bonus "I" statement that I hope none of you are ever saying!
Speaking of excuses, coach, there is no excuse for you to NOT send in a statement or two that you have heard or used that you know we should not be using as coaches! Please email me with them at [email protected]. The more we can get out there for coaches to be aware of, the better off we will all be.

Today we move into the third episode of a series on quotes that coaches should NOT use in their own personal development or with their teams. Today we cover some quotes that start with or are dominated by the pronouns "I," "me," or "my." I guess if I had to come up with a theme for this episode, it would be another quote: "It's not about YOU, coach!"
Having said that, this next statement is about YOU, coach! If you have any quotes or concepts that you think we should not be using as coaches/leaders, please email me with them at [email protected]. The more we can get out there for coaches to be aware of, the better off we will all be.

Today we move into the second episode of a series on quotes that coaches should NOT use in their own personal development or with their teams. Today we cover two quotes that we commonly use in coaching and in life, but we should really think twice about doing so.
As I say in the episode, if you have any quotes or concepts that YOU think we should not be using as coaches, please email me with them at [email protected]. The more we can get out there for coaches to be aware of, the better off we will all be.

My apologies to you for missing last week. You'll hear my explanation of what happened that caused that on this episode, but the short version of it is I was out of town at my final AD meeting at the beginning of the week, and then I had ankle replacement surgery at the end of the week.
But now, I'm back and coming to you with the start of a new series on quotes that coaches and leaders should NOT use. I'm not sure if I should say this is the first in that series, but you will hear me say in the podcast that we should not use the quote I talk about, or if we do use it, we should follow it up with actions, so I guess it IS the first episode in the series.
"What are you talking about, Scott?!" Listen to the episode to find out!

Today's episode comes to you on Memorial Day, so I thought I would do some quotes on "Sacrifice" as a way to honor and recognize those people who have made the ultimate sacrifice to keep us free and to help others in the world live freely, too. However, only one of the quotes is about that kind of sacrifice. The rest of them are great quotes for you, as leaders, to use with your teams to help them understand the importance of sacrificing some things in order to help your teams have a chance to become the best they can be.

Holy cow, it's episode #250! Now, that's a milestone. And so, what better way to celebrate a milestone like that than with quotes about Milestones?!
You're going to hear a few different quotes today about the importance of milestones, but also on what aspects of milestones people should focus on. There are multiple ideas out there on milestones, and I touch on a few that I think are the most important ones to consider when you celebrate the milestones that you achieve.
Thanks to all of you for making this milestone happen! I couldn't have done it without you, the listeners, making this all worthwhile. I appreciate you and the impact you have on me, but more importantly, the impact you have on your teams. Keep up the great work!

Today I get personal. Today's quote deals with my own life right now. I make a major announcement a little ways into the episode. It's an announcement that will have a fairly substantial impact on the podcast moving forward, as well as some other ways that I have come to you before. The quote that I discuss is perfect for the situation.
Let me know your thoughts on it and the major announcement that I make by reaching out to me at [email protected]. Looking forward to hearing from you!

I was unaware until a while after the last episode, "Leadership is Language," was released that it cut off after only a few minutes. So sorry about that. Here is the full version of it. Enjoy!
