Jude is only one chapter long. It is small, but in Jude’s own words, it is needful. He starts to write about salvation, but he was moved to write about faith and that if they did not maintain their faith, there would be no church to write about. The enemies that Jude referenced were within the church. These spirits, ideologies, and beliefs began to deteriorate the very foundation on which the church is built. The sole purpose of Jude’s writing is to arouse the church to meet the threat of things that had crept in. Brother Hughes uses Jude’s letter to encourage us to defend the faith.
