The end time timeline are a hot topic of debate in the church. The truth is that no man knows the time, so we must be ready when it comes. We can all agree that the things of the end time will happen. The fact of judgement cannot be debated. For the unbeliever, judgment will come at the end. However, for the believer, judgment will happen at the beginning. God speaks to us through His word giving us every opportunity to judge OURSELVES so that we can correct them and get realigned with Him. We will be judged by the word either in our earthly walk, or at the rapture of the church. Either way, we will be judged by the word. Since we have this word to guide us, we must ask ourselves questions to make sure we will be judged correctly.

What are we building? When we are delivered by God’s spirit, all the things that we have built in our life for the world are torn down. Once we are delivered, we must not begin to rebuild the things that He just tore down in our life.

What are we sowing? The bible says we reap what we sow. Are we sowing discord? Are our actions causing discord in the kingdom of God, or are we sowing love, compassion and mercy?

What are we being? I Peter 4:15 talks about murders, thieves, and evildoers but it also mentions busybodies. We must mind our own business and not worry about others. If we have time to be critical of others and their life, chances are, we need to pay more attention to our own lives. We have enough to deal with worrying about our own lives before we are concerned with the shortcomings in someone else's life. We judge others by their actions, but judge ourselves by our intentions.

We can judge ourselves through the Bible. It is better to judge ourselves by this standard now when we can make corrections, than to be judged by it when it is too late.

Paul (then known as Saul) was actively engaged in trying to round up the followers of Jesus to kill them. Our text from Acts is the moment when Paul switched sides. Satan works through opposition. When we start to switch sides, things will come into our life to stop us from doing what is right. God works through opportunity. When God brings things into our life, it is to prepare us for Him to show Himself in a greater way. God tells Saul that He was trying to move him somewhere, but Saul kept fighting. We spend all of our energy fighting against what God is trying to do for us.

There are many figures in the bible that would make better role models and heroes. Abraham stepped out in faith on only a word from God. David was flawed and made mistakes, but God still called him a man after his own heart. Peter had a temper, but he was loyal. We look at Paul and all the things he endured, and find someone to emulate. There are many others who are worthy, but our text is about a woman that is only mentioned once. Peter knocks at the door, and Rhoda came to the door. She knew the sound of his voice. Before she even saw Peter, she heard him. In the spirit world, sound precedes sight. Our worldly view is that we will not respond until we see it. That is not how God works. God deals in thoughts. How many times have we heard that “voice” in our head and talked ourselves out of what God was trying to do? We have to learn to listen to the voice of God and be prepared to move. God wants to work through us, but if He cannot work through us, He will work around us. We have to develop that willingness to obey even if we do not understand it. We cannot dissect what God is trying to do. We have to step out and obey what He is saying to us.

We have a reliance upon God and realize that when we are in a situation that is bigger than we can handle, that there is One that can meet that challenge. God cannot fail. If we can expect it; God can perform it. Too often we allow our situation to dictate our expectation, but Jesus said that if we had faith only as a mustard seed, that we could realize the unimaginable. Why are we surprised when God does the miraculous? We should expect it! If we can expect it; God can perform it. We don’t have to understand it. If we try to understand it, we may talk ourselves out of believing that it can be done. We need to work on the restoration of expectation.

Moses asks Pharaoh when he would like the frogs to be taken away. We would expect that he would say now, but Pharaoh responds “tomorrow.” What’s wrong with right now? Pharaoh was given the choice of when he wanted God to improve his situation and he said tomorrow. Too many saints are given the same choice, and they respond with the same answer: tomorrow. We have an opportunity to choose. There are too many people who are torn between today and tomorrow. Tomorrow has prevented more people from living for God than the devil ever did. The bible tell us that no man knows tomorrow. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. We have to give our all to God right now! Thousands of people woke up yesterday not knowing it would be their last day. The beauty of this story is that Pharo’s delay did not stop God. God kept His word and removed the frogs. God loves us enough to do that. If He will do it for us, why wait for it?
