Some healthy growth indicators are:
Roll in both directions (from front to back and back to front)
Starting to sit up
Most babies regardless of what plan you are using are sleeping 6-8 hours a night or if you are using the Babywise/Ezzo plan you can expect 9-11 hours at night
Starting solid foods
Laugh smile and babble saying things like mama, dada or baba
Nursing:
Your baby will drop the late evening feeding, so you will be feeding them most likely in four periods throughout the day.
Most pediatricians will begin to tell you to start introducing solid foods to your baby.
Sleeping:
Your baby will continue to sleep an average of 8-10 hours for breastfed babies and 8-11 hours for formula or bottle babies. Your baby will have three daytime naps about 1 ½ hr- 2 hrs.
Three signs to know when your baby is ready to transition to three naps
Your baby begins waking in the middle of the night
Your baby is waking very early in the morning
Your baby is waking early during their naps, maybe only sleeping for 45 min.
Sample schedule-
Baby wakes at 6:30am, feed and awake time, first nap at 9am for 2 hr, wake at 11am to feed, awake time, put down for a nap at 1pm, wake to feed at 3pm, awake time, put down for third nap at 5pm, wake up at 7 for fourth feeding, keep awake until bedtime which could be anywhere between 8-9:30, if you follow the book, it would be more along the 8 lines, if you follow Abby, it’s 9:30-10pm.
