God's promises last forever. He is loyal and persistent with His promises. It's because of Israel's unfaithfulness to God and God's persistence that mercy and forgiveness are available to us. God's covenant comes through repentance. In turn we need to be gracious to those who are undeserving and respond with love and loyalty.

When we fall away from God or let our sin overwhelm us we: become comfortable in our sin, let it happen in a time of blessing, it happens under bad leadership or we have replaced God with a false substitute. Has your relationship with God suffered?

God wants to encourage us more than we want to be encouraged. He wants us to keep going; not to sit and let God do the work, but we need to participate. God wants us to finish the race, win the prize and don't discourage others.
