July 27, 20202 Point Conversation: Adams saga is over for now. With NFL training starting this week after the NFL and the NFLPA came to agreement this week, we will look at some of the terms of the agreement. Also with training camp returing and starting up, that means Alex Smith will be reporting to team facilities after he was cleared for football activities. We will also look at the first player who would opt out of the NFL season and the reason why. Finally, the saga of Jamal Adams has ended in New York, but just getting started in Seattle. The backlash, the response and the anticipation is killing everyone. QBs beware in the NFC West, because that division is the definition of a gauntlet. July 25, 20202 Point Conversation: It's in the GameIts that time of year again. The always anticipated, controversial release of the new Madden ratings for the upcoming game. How do they come up with these ratings, and how do they miss so bad. Some ratings as always, leaves us scratching our heads and Ant Julz and myself will be debating some highly talked about player ratings on all your favorite players. Oh yea, and what would be T.O.'s Madden rating right now? Because the man, from looking at the tape of him and the fastest man in football, Tyreek Hill, racing on the football. Lets just say, he still got it.--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/2pointconversation/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information....more57minPlay
July 24, 20202 Point Conversation: A Lot on their plateThe NFL has a lot on their plate recently. Whether it be Antonio Brown, or fighting against systemic racism. The league has put forward an idea that players can honor victims of systemic racism with decals to be worn on helmets. The league is trying to right their wrongs, and this a good start. With training camp right around the corner, the NFLPA and NFL are working on finalizing a deal for health and safety protocols as well as fixing the economic issues arising from the Covid pandemic. Among those protocols is the testing system. It sounds great but is it really expected for a season to occur in 2020. With the NFL, unlike other sports leagues, they have a larger amount of athletes, which can raise the probability of someone getting Covid-19 and can make the virus spread like wild fire. Some teams, like the Vikings are thinking of initiatives on how to control the spread of Covid-19 at their facilities. Sounds good, but also sounds like a prison from a movie on the syfy channel.--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/2pointconversation/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information....more49minPlay
July 20, 20202 Point Conversation: NegligencePlayers prepare to arrive to training camp, but NFL hasn't done their part to make the players feel safe. After announcing when the players are expected to arrive for training camp, players voiced their concerns about the ongoing health and safety protocols that have yet to be agreed upon. Things that were agreed upon were some contracts given to some key pieces of football teams, but not all players get a happy ending. Dak Prescott and the Cowboys were unable to get a deal done, which may mark the beginning of the end of the Dak era in Big D. Dan Snyder was in the headlines early last week for announcing a name change to the Washington franchise. By the end of the week, there was a new headline for the Washington football franchise, which included an article from the Washington Post citing sexual harassment. Unfortunately, this wasn't the first time a problem regarding the culture of the franchise has come up, so we will follow this story very closely as this is an ongoing investigation. Even if Dan Snyder didn't know what was happening, it is his responsibility to ensure a safe culture for his employees. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/2pointconversation/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information....more43minPlay
July 14, 20202 Point Conversation: ChangesOutside of the changes to some comics and getting our nerd on, many changes are coming to the NFL. A change, that many felt would never happen. The change of the name and logo of the football franchise in Washington DC. The "Redskins" name has been retired and now lets speculate on what the new name of the team could possible be. Changes to QB ratings in Madden, which Mahomes apparently doesn't have the strongest arm in football. Changes, or possible changes to the running back position in San Francisco after Raheem Mostert demanded a trade, adding to the list of players demanding trades. And the inevitable change coming to the football field in the form of new helmets to help protect players from the on going Covid pandemic. Unfortunately, not all players are on board with the new style of helmet. July 08, 20202 Point Conversation: $503 Million Dollar ManWe have a new face of the NFL and that is the $503 Million Dollar Man, Patrick Mahomes. After winning an NFL MVP in his first season as a starter, and a Superbowl ring and superbowl MVP, the man got paid. How many more MVPs does Mahomes have in him? How many rings? The sky is the limit for this young 24 year old. The largest contract in sports history now belonging to Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes has sold the Chiefs on his ability, but on draft day in 2017, not everyone was sold. We have probably one of the worst takes ever from USA Today from when Mahomes was draft, and it did not age well at all. Also we have some more trade demands and possible adjustments to the 2020 season.--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/2pointconversation/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information....more42minPlay
July 01, 20202 Point Conversation: Yes you CAM!The Quarterback cycle has now been completed. The last chip has fallen, and it wasnt where football fans wanted him to fall. Cam Newton has joined forces with the New England Patriots. Making a Brady-Belichick Superbowl reunion a more real possibility. We talk about the deal with Cam Newton and what that means for both Cam and the Patriots and how the door for a new champion in the AFC East, may have closed shut. We will also talk best QB in the NFC South and a Netflix special on Kap in the works. Also NBA star, Matt Barnes, speaks on "Defining" with Taylor Rooks and talks about more Donald Sterlings that still exist in sports, in both the NBA and the NFL and the reason why that is. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/appSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/2pointconversation/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information....more53minPlay
