Fluence Energy (NASDAQ: $FLNC) has announced a strategic partnership with Rich Electric, a Taiwanese company with expertise in power conversion and battery-based energy storage systems. Through this partnership, Fluence and Rich Electric will deploy a 100 MW battery-based energy storage system in Hualien. With a targeted completion date of mid-2023, the project will be the first 100 MW level system in Taiwan. It is also anticipated to be one of Fluence’s largest automatic frequency control projects in the country.

Niu Technologies (NASDAQ: $NIU), the world’s leader in providing smart urban mobility solutions, has reported its second quarter 2022 sales results. During the quarter, the company sold more than 208,000 units across all of its product lines, which includes e-motorcycles, e-mopeds, e-bicycles, kick-scooters and e-bikes.

While sales in China decreased during the second quarter due to lockdowns across major metropolitan areas, the company pointed to strong growth in international markets. Sales outside of China were fueled by its kick-scooters, which reached a record high of almost 21,000 units. This increase represented the most sales since the product’s debut last year. Niu says that its kick-scooter products have been well received by customers and have also been featured in the Amazon Electric Bicycles best seller list since April.

Tesla (NASDAQ: $TSLA) has reported its second quarter production and delivery results. During the quarter, the company produced 242,000 Model 3’s and 16,400 Model S’s. Additionally, the company reported deliveries totaling just shy of 255,000 Model 3 and Model S electric vehicles.

Second quarter delivery numbers fell slightly shy of analysts’ expectations. Analysts were expecting deliveries of more than 256,000 vehicles for the quarter, however numerous supply chain, semiconductor chip and parts shortages likely attributed to the delivery miss. The second quarter results compare to deliveries of more than 310,000 during the first quarter of 2022, representing a quarter over quarter decline of 15%.

During the second quarter, Tesla was forced to reduce production at its Shanghai factory due to lockdowns in China. Additionally, global macroeconomic events continue to exasperate supply shortages around parts and chips.

The company noted that despite the quarterly delivery miss, June 2022 represented the highest vehicle production month in Tesla’s history. The company will host a live webcast to discuss its quarterly results on Wednesday, July 20th.

GreenPower Motor Company (NASDAQ: $GP), a leading manufacturer and distributor of zero-emission, electric-powered vehicles, has announced fiscal full year financial results for the period ending March 31, 2022.

Financial highlights for the year included revenues of $17.2 million, which represented a 30% increase over the previous fiscal year. The company also reported inventory of $32.3 million and working capital of $31.58 million.

Operational highlights from the year included continued expansion of the company’s dealer network across the United States. During the year, Greenpower signed dealership agreements to expand its sales footprint across Arizona, Nevada, Washington State, New Jersey, New York and California.

The company also completed a significant partnership with the state of West Virginia, entering into a purchase agreement for an 80,000 square foot facility on six acres of land. The facility will be used to manufacture all-electric school buses for the U.S. market.

In March, Greenpower signed a contract with Workhorse Group (NASDAQ: $WKHS) to supply 1,500 electric vehicle star cab and chassis, which will be used to produce Workhorse branded panel vans in the North American market.

Tritium DCFC has announced plans to supply more than 100 rapid electric vehicle chargers to Motor Fuel Group, the largest independent forecourt operator in the UK. FREYR Battery, a developer of clean, next-generation battery cell production capacity, has announced the expansion of its planned Giga Arctic project under development in Norway. The expansion plans will increase the planned gigafactory’s nameplate capacity to 29 GWh annually. Groundworks at the site are well advanced and the company has recently started casting foundation structures.

Rocket Lab has successfully launched CAPSTONE, a microwave-oven-sized satellite designed to test a new orbit around the Moon for NASA. 

CAPSTONE was launched on an Electron rocket from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 in Mahia, New Zealand. The mission was Rocket Lab’s 27th Electron launch.   The CAPSTONE CubeSat will be the first spacecraft to test the Near Rectilinear Halo Orbit around the Moon. This will be the same orbit intended for NASA’s Gateway program, a multipurpose Moon-orbiting station that will provide essential support for long-term astronaut lunar missions as part of the Artemis program.  Peter Beck, Rocket Lab founder and CEO, said “Today’s launch was an important step in humanity’s return to the Moon and a testament to the determination, resolve, and innovation of the hundreds of people behind CAPSTONE.
