Without good planning and preparation, you are destined to leave something important behind. That is why in today’s podcast we talk about 3 of the most important items you need to go hunting. You shouldn’t leave home without any of them.
But those aren’t the only items you’ll need. So, to help you avoid forgetting something important, I’ve included a couple of great gear lists in today’s episode. Why try to come up with your own list when you can download mine and add to it.
This episode, like so many in this 10 Step series, is just a quick simple discussion designed to get you to think and plan your next hunt. Focused on the new and inexperienced hunter, but created with the intention of helping everyone who hunts.

In today’s podcast, You will understand the factors to consider when you choose your hunting rifle. It’s not about the caliber you shoot as much as it is about getting a rifle that works for you.
I also talk about the things to consider when choosing a bow and arrow set up. Maybe the one you have will work fine, but a little adjustment or two and your accuracy will improve tremendously.
This podcast is the third step in a 10 step process I discuss in my book Learn to Hunt. You can get a free copy at greenhornhunting.com/starthunting.You should make sure the hunting weapon you choose will not only kill the animal you are hunting quickly and effectively, but it needs to be something you have a great deal of confidence in.
I hope this episode will encourage you to find the right gun or bow for your next hunt and you will understand how to build confidence in that weapon over time.

On today’s podcast, we focus on learning how to break down the hunting regulations into bite-size pieces so you won’t be overwhelmed by too much information. I know as a hunter education instructor that reading the game laws has prevented many people from moving forward in their pursuit to be a hunter.
If you are faced with this challenge, hopefully, this podcast will boost your confidence, or at least encourage you to ask questions so you can get on to the next step in learning how to hunt.
I would suggest you click the link below and download a copy of the 2019 - 2020 Idaho Big Game Regulation or pick up a copy and follow along as I go page to page through just the pages I need to learn to hunt a whitetail deer. This book is 126 pages, but we are only going to need to study about 16 pages.

Today on the podcast you will learn all about hunter education. I’ll take you through what hunter education class is and the subjects you would learn if you attend one of my classes.
This is meant as an introduction for new “want to be hunters” or anyone just interested in what hunting is all about. You will learn there are several ways to get your hunter education certificate regardless of your learning style or how much time you have available.
I even introduce you to an opportunity to hunt without taking hunter education which may be available in your state or province.
