1 John 3:1-3 - Behold! God has given us a great love: it's the resource of our faith, the reason for our hope, and causes us to response in love. What's the nature of that love? He has made us His children.

Joshua 5 | 1 John 2:28,29 - Does the LORD prefer one political party over another? Is one party more righteous than another? The answer to those questions depend on who is righteous. Jesus, the just, He alone is righteous.

1 John 2:26-27 - Abiding in Christ is more than simply believing in Him. People "abide" where they feel safe and in arenas where they are pursuing what they value. Do you value Jesus? Do you feel safe with Him? You should, He gave His life in your place on the cross.

1 John 2:18-25 - There is no "higher level" of spirituality beyond the knowing of Jesus Christ. Jesus of Nazareth is the focus of God's plan, and those who advance in their faith do so by growing in their knowledge of Him.

1 John 2:15-17: Can you determine your destiny by analyzing what you love? You sure can. Loving the Father or loving "the world" is our litmus test.

1 John 2:7-11 - There's quite a bit of talk about who is walking with God. John the Apostle tells us, "If you hate your brother, you are still in darkness."

1 John 2:1-5 - God is satisfied with us, because God is satisfied with the work of Jesus Christ on our behalf. He now looks to shower His divine favor upon us.

1 John 1:5-10 - "We say" a lot of things, like "we love God" and yet walk in the darkness. What does the Word of God say about our claims in light of our motives and actions.

1 John 1:1-4 We proclaim that true joy is to be found in a right with God which includes being part of a community of faith.
