Today we welcome special guest Mark Bunting, and we talk about humor. Because sometimes, you just gotta laugh.
Sometimes you have to accept reality on its terms. Like the job market. And that's ok. Right?
First a bit of bromance stuff to get out of the way, and then a discussion about death. As one does.
Have you ever had an idea you felt really strongly about...it was non-negotiable...it was TRUTH. But then somehow, eventually you changed your mind? Yeah, us too. And that's good. Because fixing the world starts with examining what we're sure is true. In case it's not.
Listen...if we're going to fix the world, we need to agree on a few things. Or maybe just one. So... if you could get everyone in the world to believe ONE THING is true, what would it be?
If you could go back and talk to the younger you, what would you say? Would you give him/her a list of instructions and to-dos? Would you scare yourself straight? Or would you tell yourself to chill, and that everything will be ok. And would it have made a difference?
Lots of questions...but definitely important if we're going to fix the world.
Do you know yourself? Honestly...do you? You probably think you do, but do you really? For one, you don't know what you don't know. So there's that. Why are we often a mystery to ourselves? If we're going to fix the world (by we...we mean you too...we're all in this together) it's important we know who we are and what we bring to the table. And that starts with getting to know that person we're stuck with all day, every day.
Like it or not the age of AI is upon us, but people have strongly differing feelings about it. Kind of like black licorice. Or meditation. Or Taylor Swift...most people love it or hate it. How about you?
There's nothing quite as therapeutic as an occasional F-bomb. But not for Joel.
