Catalina Osorio Arteaga Kocturk, nació en Medellín, Colombia. A sus 20 años emigró a Estados Unidos donde recibió una formación en psicología en Queens College, NY. Luego de graduarse, se trasladó a Estambul, Turquía donde se casó y donde reside con su familia. Hace 15 años que se dedica a la educación preescolar enseñando no sólo inglés, sino también gestión de emociones, autorregulación, y técnicas de relajación.  En el 2020, la muerte de su padre y la pandemia la acercaron al tema de la muerte y el duelo. Se certificó en Consejería en Duelo y se formó como Tanatóloga. Es miembro activo de G5, un grupo tanatológico para acompañar procesos de duelo desde diferentes frentes. Hizo parte del equipo piloto del proyecto “Pepe Grillo”, primer grupo virtual de duelo infantil en América Latina; facilitó el grupo “Tío Beto”, capacitación en duelo infantil para los cuidadores primarios de los niños de Pepe Grillo y actualmente es facilitadora del proyecto “El Profe”, taller de habilidades en acompañamiento en duelo infantil y del adolescente para profesores y psicólogos en el ambiente escolar.

Catalina salió de su país hace 28 años, vivió 7 años en Estados Unidos, 9 meses en Brasil y 21 años en Turquía. Es así como el Duelo Migratorio se convirtió en un tema de gran importancia en su vida. En este episodio comparte información muy valiosa desde la Tanatología y desde su propia experiencia. Su propósito de vida es generar una cultura de duelo, en la que se normalice hablar de la muerte y las pérdidas y se facilite su gestión a través de estrategias de afrontamiento aprendidas socialmente. Para ella, el conocimiento empodera y es un ingrediente vital para la resiliencia motivo por el cual le apasiona transmitirlo.

Coty Soto López es una apasionada tanatóloga de 56 años, felizmente casada durante 34 años. Junto a su esposo, ha formado una hermosa familia compuesta por tres hijos varones y tres nietos, con otro en camino y uno más en el cielo. Su devoción a la familia es uno de sus principales motores en la vida.

Hace mas de diez años, Coty encontró su vocación en la tanatología, motivada por su fe católica y un profundo deseo de ayudar a los demás. La muerte tocó a su puerta de manera trágica y dolorosa, alterando su vida de formas inimaginables. En un período de cinco años, perdió a su cuñada, sobrino, cuñado y padre, lo que la sumió en un profundo dolor. Mas recientemente tambien fallecio su madre.

Coty se dio cuenta de que debía enfrentar sus emociones para poder sanar y continuar ayudando a los demás. Este camino la llevó a abrazar su fe con más fuerza y a dedicarse plenamente a la tanatología. Actualmente, sigue actualizándose y preparándose para brindar el mejor apoyo posible a quienes atraviesan duelos.

Además de ser una tanatóloga, Coty vive con fibromialgia, lo que le ha enseñado aún más sobre el duelo y cómo una enfermedad crónica puede afectar nuestras vidas y rutinas diarias. Esta experiencia personal añade una capa más profunda a su comprensión del dolor y la recuperación.

Entre sus pasiones se encuentran la lectura, la natación, el camping y el voleibol. Ama estar en la naturaleza, y todas estas actividades le han proporcionado la fortaleza y resiliencia necesarias para seguir adelante.

Marissa Quintero was born in London to a Colombian father and an Indian mother. She was raised in Colombia and moved to the United States 10 years ago with the intention of giving her sons a better life.

Marissa is a domestic violence survivor, a mental health warrior, and an empowered woman. She discovered running about four years ago during a mental health crisis. She has since run two marathons, including the Boston Marathon most recently this year. Marissa is on a personal goal to complete 50 half marathons before she turns 50 and has already completed 13.

She is on a path of self-healing for herself, her sons, and anyone who might be in need.
