On Friday night, Leverkusen produced a much-improved display under new head coach Kaspar Hjulmand as they defeated Frankfurt 3-1 thanks to a double from Grimaldo. Despite finishing with 9- men, the hosts were able to hold on quite comfortably against the off-colour visitors. On Saturday, FC Koeln scored a 104th-minute leveller at Wolfsburg in a 3-3 draw.
