The Pentagon will execute Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan by firing squad on Dec. 3 — and livestream it. Senators from both parties and the Catholic bishops are horrified. I think the Pentagon is right, and I think every execution in America should be on camera. If an execution is justice, you shouldn't need to hide it. If it's too barbaric to watch, maybe it's too barbaric to do.

Two days after the night at the center of her rape allegations, Cornell's Jane Doe texted one of the men she's now suing: "our body our choice." Two weeks later, in the same thread, she wrote that "90% of what happened that night was not consensual." Collin Rugg posted the first set to four million views and called it "case closed." I look at both — and at everyone who picked a team before reading either.

The allegations in her civil lawsuit are unproven, and the men she accused deny wrongdoing. Quotes are from texts published by TMZ (Oct. 8, 2026) and reported by CBS News, ABC News and The New York Times.

Candace Owens wants her denial heard. Does she give the same consideration to the people she accuses? Edward Grimm examines Owens’s treatment of Erika Kirk, her conspiracy claims, and the standard she asks for when she becomes the story.

Just Deserts is episode 3 of The Distillation, from Grimm on the Rocks.

This is criticism of public claims and inconsistent standards. The private-life allegations discussed originated in a self-published thread, remain unverified, and are denied by Owens. A photograph or an alleged profile does not establish an affair, who created an account, or anyone’s sexual orientation.
