Grit & Glitter

It's the special premiere of two brand-new recurring G&G segments!

20 Questions sees people answer a 20-point questionnaire covering topics ranging from wrestling to music to day jobs to hopes and fears.  To test out the new segment, Em and Harley put themselves to the test.

Plus:  it's the debut of our new advice column, Dear Ziggy!  Every week Ziggy Haim answers your questions and dispenses advice and guidance on a variety of topics.  This week, Ziggy tackles the art of self-confidence and faking it 'til you make it.

This summer your favorite women's wrestling podcast will be hitting a landmark 250 episodes.  As we continue our trek toward that destination, let's take this week to revisit another landmark - our 100th episode from August 2021.

On the 100th episode of G&G we took you on a journey through the history of this podcast, from conception to execution and the assembling of The Glitterati.

It was a double-header weekend of women's wrestling from two of the big three.

Harley, Em, and Mayydayy discuss the Knockouts action at TNA Rebellion including Jordynne Grace and Steph De Lander being overrun by a bunch of men, Decay's greatest hits tour, the disappearance of Killer Kelly, and the slow build of Ash By Elegance.

Then: Em and Harley talk the ladies of AEW Dynasty including Willow Nightingale clobbering Julia Hart in six minutes, Toni Storm and Thunder Rosa wrestling a good match, Mina Shirakawa, and whether Mercedes Moné will actually win the TBS title.

On the season 12 premiere of Grit & Glitter, it's the 2024 women's wrestling draft!

This year Harley and Em are joined by Tess Schmucker (Women's Wrestling Watch) and Meg James (Gravy Bowl) to compete to draft their own rosters, drawing wrestlers and broadcasters of marginalized genders from WWE, AEW, TNA, Japan, and the indies with each of them trying to build the strongest all-around roster.

Who will be their #1 draft picks?  Which wrestlers will be the most coveted?  Which top stars will go unclaimed?  And which promotion will prove the hardest to draw from?

On our season 11 finale, The Glitterati take Philadelphia!  Harley, Em, Don, Lindsay, Mayydayy, and Val Pancakes all descended upon the city of brotherly love for a WrestleMania-less WrestleMania weekend.

With the aid of Lindsay's cousin (and brand-new wrestling fan) Rebekah and friend of the show Laz, they discuss their personal highlights from shows including Effy's Big Gay Brunch, For The Culture, Spark Joshi, TJPW, ThrashElvania, Stardom, CFU, Progress, GCW/JCW, and Joey Janela's Clusterfuck Forever.

Harley talks to PWI editor-in-chief Kevin McElvaney about running his first show, this Saturday's ThrashElvania.

They discuss surprises found in running your first show, raising funds for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, and putting together matches like Shazza McKenzie vs. Delmi Exo, Rhio vs. Hyan, and Laynie Luck & GPA vs. Brandon & Kasey Kirk in the Kirks' couple invitational.

Harley, Lindsay, and Don cover Kanpai, the second(?) show from American joshi promotion Kitsune Women's Wrestling.

Unagi Sayaka vs. Janai Kai for the Kitsune Championship!  Jordynne Grace vs. Yuu!  26 other women in 7 other matches!

Plus:  The Glitterati are heading to Philadelphia for a WrestleMania-less WrestleMania weekend.  *insert Michael Scott it's happening gif*

Harley & Em are joined by very special guest Edith Surreal to present the ninth installment in their series "Living Legends."  With this series, we strive to present a definitive look at the lives and careers of some of your favorite wrestlers.  Where did they come from?  How did they get to where they are today?  And why are they so beloved?

This time: it’s Kimber Lee!  From being the first female graduate of the CZW Academy to the only woman to hold the Chikara Grand Championship, through going viral with Chris Dickinson, showing out in the Mae Young Classic, and wrestling in the final Shimmer match ever.  This is the story of the princess who saved herself.

Genesis (Selena O'Sullivan) and Exodus (KZT) discuss how they came to WOW, finding their characters, forming Team Exile, and advancing to the semi-finals of the ongoing trios tournament with their new protégé, Ice Cold.

Harley is joined by returning friends Kristen Ashly and Mr. Warren Hayes to discuss the women's action at AEW Revolution!

Does the character work of "Timeless" Toni Storm hinder her ability to wrestle to her full potential?  Where does Deonna Purrazzo go from here?  What are Stokely Hathaway's intentions?  Could increasing the number of pay-per-views give women like Thunder Rosa, Hikaru Shida, and Serena Deeb actual things to do?  Will the imminent arrival of Mercedes Moné change anything with the booking of the women's division?  Is Skye Blue the Igor of the House Of Black?
