  • Juan Chavez
“It’s Called Being A Professional, Darling.”
Juan Chavez is a designer who transforms fabrics into fantasies. As a child in Palm Springs, he would trace his own clothing, creating patterns that form the basis of his earliest designs. With a mother and grandmother who sewed and an architect father, Juan grew up with an innate ability to construct garments and deconstruct those he saw around him. However, it was not until he enrolled at the Otis College of Art and Design that he would seriously pursue fashion design. It was while in college that he would develop the traditional skills of drafting patterns, draping, and construction. In his senior year, his mentor was none other than the legendary Bob Mackie. Mr. Mackie proved to be a powerful influence in Juan's life, sharing secrets of foundation construction & the chiffon nipple!
Based in Los Angeles, Juan creates garments for some of today's most well-known Drag Queens. Most notable among them is Naomi Smalls, who walked into the RuPaul's Drag Race workroom with an entire wardrobe of Juan's original designs. A loyal client, Naomi would continue to trust his vision and commission to create all of her premiere looks. In many ways, he has played a crucial role in the ever-changing landscape of drag. His collaborations represent an elevation of the traditional drag aesthetic, melding couture construction with the drama and opulence sought after by Queens.
Join us in welcoming Juan to the Grizzly KiKi family as we explore fashion, catch up on current events, and spill some spicy Tea about a certain flower-loving Queen!

  • Miz Jade & Ryder Lickquor
The Family That Drags Together, Slays Together!
With the glitter & glamour of Bushwig still fresh in the air, we welcome back Miz Jade & interview her drag son, Ryder Lickquor. This experience was an exciting one for us, as Ryder is the first Drag King to be on the show. Having Miz Jade by his side was also a treat, as we got to explore their shady family tree.
Ryder met Jade as a High School cheerleader in Westchester. From then until now, their bond as friends developed into one akin to mother & son. With Jade's guidance & his own clear vision, Ryder keenly observed the scene & developed his aesthetic in a very organic manner.
During our chat, we discussed the role of Drag Kings in our community, the need for diversity in queer spaces, Bushwig 2017, and much more!

  • Vander Von Odd
Vander Von Odd Is A Drag Supermonster!
In a world where a Drag Queen Classification System is taking hold, Vander occupies a rarified atmosphere. As the winner of The Boulet Brothers' DRAGULA: Search for the World's Next Drag Supermonster, she clawed her way to the top using blood, vomit, bones, and more blood. However, whether she was bleeding on stage or eating brains in the desert, Vander's looks and performances displayed a level of polish typically associated with a Pageant or Beauty Queen. A Drag Supermonster doesn't just make a mess, she does it with class & intelligence. With custom-crafted looks based on Victorian and Elizabethan fashion and the vision of a horror movie director, Vander is the embodiment of The Boulet Brother's DRAGULA. On this episode, we round up the latest in music news and much more. Kesha dropped her uplifting new album, "Rainbow"; Cher is starring in an animated series on Netflix; Aaron Carter comes out as bisexual; Perez Hilton is crying about something inconsequential; AND Alaska Thunderfuck & Katya Zamolodchikova are set to star in the upcoming horror film, "The Quiet Room."

Bev & her band are unique in that they do not regularly perform in gay bars, but rather music venues. However, as the front woman, she brings the artistry of drag to both their music & live performances. Along with her bandmates, Aaron & Trevor, Bev has created a sound and look that have attracted the attention of other Chicago Queens, namely Lucy Stoole.
