Delays ruin everything. They mess up our plans, they're always annoying, and we do everything we can to avoid them. But often a delay in our life can be an opportunity for God do do some significant work in us helping us grow in our trust of him.

As our world begins to open up and our schedules begin to fill its a good time to pause for a reminder that we were made for rest and if we don't we could be forced to. Psalm 23 is a beautiful reminder of God's provision and care for us and his invitation to come and find rest.

One of the main purpose of the Book of Psalms, is that for like 2500 years,
it has been teaching God's people the language of prayer... the language
of lament or grief ... the language of praise... the language of confession...
and how do you do that. And, in teaching us the language of prayer, the
psalms also show us the importance of our emotions, in our prayer life.

When you consider how well you're living your life, who do you look to? Who or what has set the standard for how well you're living your life? Comparison is a human tendency and struggle, and though it's important that we have a standard for how we live our lives, comparing to the people around us typically doesn't lead us closer to God, or to each other. Today we continue in our series on the parables as we look at the Pharisee and the Tax Collector, and how the Pharisee's decision to look to God and repent of how he was falling short changed everything in his relationship with God, and with those around him.

The past 14 months have been filled with tragedy after tragedy and at times it can feel overwhelming. This past week, as the news broke of 215 precious indigenous children's bodies being found in a mass grave, we were once again overwhelmed by the brokenness of our world and the roller coaster ride of emotions we are all feeling.
