In Ephesians six, verse fifteen we’re implored by Paul to have our “feet shod with the preparation of peace”. Now, what does that mean? peace and footwear don’t seem to have a lot in common. If you’re not quite sure what Paul is getting at here, then please stay with us.

We will be finishing our series through Ephesians in just a week or so, but we still have some important ground to cover. Here in chapter six, Paul is sharing the items we should carry with us to fight our daily battle with satan. Obviously the attacks will come, that’s for sure. But is we are prepared, our chances for success will be enhanced.

Hello and welcome to a special edition of Growing in the Word, with pastor Jim Jarrett. We’re going to take a short break from our series in Ephesians today and tomorrow to bring you a special message from pastor Jim, centered on thankfulness. Thanksgiving Day is celebrated each year at this time, but shouldn’t every day be thanksgiving day for a Christian? Do you take time to thank God every day for what He has given you? We’ll be visiting several books in the bible today, especially the Psalms.

Our current mini-series is designed to prepare us for spiritual battle by explaining the armor God has available for us. Today we’ll look at the Breastplate of Righteousness. Many people don’t even understand what righteousness is - and we need to, because that breastplate is a vital piece of equipment!

Today we’ll stay in Ephesians six as we continue discussing spiritual warfare. Now we all know that one of the key components in winning any battle is to be properly equipped. In our spiritual war with satan, it’s especially important. In Ephesians six, beginning in verse fourteen, Paul lays out for us the key pieces of our Godly armor. We begin today in verse fourteen, and the first piece of our armor - God’s truth.

From our very first day in Sunday school, we’re taught about this thing called “the devil”. It’s quite clear from reading the Bible that satan is a real being, and yet the number of people - including many Christians - who don’t take satan seriously is startling. We’ll take him seriously today on the broadcast as we continue our study in Ephesians chapter six

 As we near the end of our study of Ephesians on Growing in the Word, we continue our study on Spiritual Warfare. We are in a war as pastor Jim Jarrett has mentioned before.  Therefore, it’s imperative that we be properly armed for the battle, and the first article of our armor deals with truth.

We need to be prepared for spiritual warfare, and the Bible has all the tools we need for the preparation process.  Today on Growing in the Word, pastor Jim Jarrett returns to Ephesians chapter six, where we’ll see how to successfully resist the Devil.
