Knowing our purpose is very important for the church.  Today on Growing in the Word, pastor Jim Jarrett continues his study of Ephesians and has us consider a passage that will help clarify our purpose as members of the church. 

 As believers in Christ, we’ve been given spiritual gifts, but sadly, many never put them to use.  Maybe you’re uncertain today as to what gift you’ve been given.  We encourage you to take a look in the mirror as we turn to Ephesians four, and that list of the spiritual gifts.

Today on Growing in the Word, Jim Jarrett returns to his study of Ephesians, and we continue in a portion of the epistle where the apostle Paul describes several spiritual gifts, and the importance of using them in unity, to God’s glory.

 Today on Growing in the Word, rather than looking at the things which divide us, we’ll spend our time discovering the things that can serve to unify us. We are studying the great book of Ephesians currently, and we are in chapter four once again today. Let’s join pastor Jim Jarrett for a message titled “The Unity of the Church”.

The body of Christ is not only unified in the truth about Christ - but God provides us with a love and power to strengthen us in our unity as we’ll go on to discover today on Growing in the Word.  Jim Jarrett is in Ephesians four.

Today we begin a look at the fourth chapter of Ephesians. The first three chapters painted a beautiful picture of all that our Lord has done for us.  Now as we move into chapter four today, pastor Jim will observe a wonderful response to what God has done.  And the apostle Paul starts with the topic of unity and peace. 

If there was anyone who had first hand knowledge of the power of God, it was the man who wrote Ephesians, the apostle Paul. He spent time in prison, he was beaten, he was insulted and scorned for his faith in God. But Paul knew the fullness of the knowledge of God, and that’s what he passes to us through the book of Ephesians

Today on Growing in the Word pastor Jim Jarrett will continue his study in the final part of Ephesians chapter three. And Jim will uncover the riches and blessings that are available to us in Christ.  Now these riches truly satisfy, and bring joy beyond compare. So let’s see together how to tap into these heavenly resources.

Jim’s focus today is the final segment of Ephesians chapter three - where Paul prays once again for the Ephesians - that they would understand the great depth of God’s Love. As is the case with so much of the bible, this is a lesson we need to learn as well.

Today, pastor Jim is going to share another message in his new series in the book of Ephesians. We are looking at chapter three, and Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians. There are many great prayers in the bible. Jesus’ prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane comes to mind, but here in Ephesians three, Paul fervently and forcefully prayers for his brothers and sisters in Ephesus.
