Pastor Jim is currently sharing a mini-series on discipleship and we will once today be in in the Gospel of John, chapter three where Jesus is talking to one of the leaders of the Jewish faith, Nicodemus. Jesus has just shared what it takes to be His disciple, and Nicodemus has a few questions.

Pastor Jim is teaching through the Gospel of John and is in the third chapter where the Pharisee Nicodemus is getting taught the true meaning of the scriptures.

Today, we continue a look at one of the most well-known chapters in God's word, chapter three. Pastor Jim will consider a very important question - Do you know what it means to be "born again"? It's a pretty common term in Christian circles, yet many simply don't understand what the Lord meant by that. Nicodemus needed some clarification, and perhaps you do too! From John chapter three.

Each of us go through certain periods where we question the meaning of life, and what will occur after death. In the gospel of John chapter three, we're introduced to a man who definitely had knowledge of Jesus. That knowledge required a response but he's not sure what kind! So he comes to Jesus for answers. And that's certainly the right place to go.

Idolatry is a major issue in this world, and that includes the church. Anything that gets our attention away from God is an idol, and must be dealt with.

Do you have idols in your life? Before you say "no"!, you might want to consider the priorities you set for your life each day. Making money? Diving into a juicy burger? Maybe your relationships. Those can all become idols and they can build a wall between us and God. Turn to First John five, verse twenty-one.

Today, pastor Jim wraps up his series titled "Five Truths God Want Every Child of God to Know". God's truths are wonderful to consider, and they are one hundred percent reliable too. When God makes a promise, He keeps it!

As Christians, we are subject to ridicule, derision and rejection from a world that has sold out to satan and his lies. But we don't have to be discouraged! God has made some wonderful promises to us, and we can count on them to be one hundred percent true.

Over the next four days, we are going to look into something that every Christian needs to hear - Five truths that God wants all of His children to know. Truth is pretty much gone out of style in the world we live in. It seems like everyone can just make up their own truth, and no one will question it. Two plus two equals five if that's what you believe!
