The act of surrendering to the difficult situations we are in is something Q dives into and it can remove us from a place of feeling stuck. 

So much of what we talk about on this episode can be summarized by the importance of slowing down, allowing ourselves to recognize we are struggling and might be lost, but that we can resolve things through creating purpose in where we can be of most use to ourselves and those around us.

Competitiveness is within us all, but history shows that only a select few get to make a career of achieving the greatest goals of being a champion at what they do. Bennie Brazell has climbed the mountain of becoming a champion across numerous areas of his athletic career, both as an athlete and as a coach, and this competitor is highly driven to keep on doing this for a long time. 

This episode is specifically about the traits and habits required, in Bennie's expert opinion, to deliver championship level results which can be intimidating to some of us. But the content provided will force anyone listening to ask themselves what are they willing to do, to sacrifice, and to embrace to reach their highest of goals. 

Bennie Brazell  is a Track & Field Assistant Coach at Louisiana State University. He joins the show to discuss his storied career of winning, firstly, as an athlete, and then, as a coach. As a student-athlete he was a 5-time NCAA Champion in Track and National Champion in football both at LSU in the early 2000's. He then returned to his Alma Mater in 2011 and has coached numerous individuals to NCAA Championships over the last decade and was a part of the staff that led the LSU Men's team to an NCAA outdoor championship in 2021. 

Bennie provides insight into his upbringing and how it shaped his "don't back down" personality that embraced challenges thrown his way. In college, Bennie was a member of winning cultures created by Hall of Fame coaches in both Football and Track & Field and we get to learn all about his main takeaways from those. Finally, Bennie discusses his coaching approach that has provided consistently elite levels of performance.

First interview of 2022 arrives with our guest, Lee Povey who provides insight into some of the key tools and perspectives in his coaching methods. This episode is about equipping you with the conscious tools required to bring your best self to your career daily and give yourself the opportunity to compete at the highest levels.

Heralding from the UK and a former coaching career as an international cycling performance coach, Lee has now spent most of the last 2 years establishing himself as a leadership & executive coach. He has established his own company - Maximize your Potential Coaching (Website) - and has invested a lot of time in establishing the philosophies he is impacting clients with today. 

We start by discussing confidence and establishing buy in from those you oversee and how we can do this by both illustrating and explaining why our methods can have impact. From here, Lee goes into the notion of how we "show up" on a daily basis and how this dictates how we react to the stimulus around us.

Lee explains the impact of coming from a place of love in the way we go about our days and seek empathy in our behavioral tendencies. Furthermore, we leave ourselves open to opportunities for expansion in human connection and personal growth when we see the world from this perspective. 

Finally, one of the lasting points of emphasis Lee offers is that of prioritizing and enjoying the process over the result, and see the success in being able to actually keep the process as the priority.

Welcome to a competitive call to start out 2022 as I present the notion of how we have been sold on being good enough throughout our lives.

Whether we are willing to accept it or not a great deal of our upbringing was based around satisfying standards and doing enough. This mindset got us through school and into our careers, but when I look back on my passions as a child and look at the passions I pursue today, they were born out of an exposure to an elite mindset and standard.

So what came first? The passion or the exposure to elite performance? Through this 10 minute episode I present the notion that I pursued sports growing up thanks to being educated and exposed to elite level sport.

It's the last episode of the year 2021 and we welcome in a man whose dreams will hopefully be realized at the very early part of 2022. Benjamin Alexander joins the show to provide insight into the reasons behind his pursuit of a dream that started at the incredible age of 32.

Having spent the majority of his adult life establishing himself as a world-renowned DJ, Benjamin experienced his first trip down the slopes at 32 and decided this was no ordinary experience, in fact it was so impactful it would change the course of the next 6 years.
