“I've never been to a foreign country - where does the world end and where do borders begin?”
Pimf - Intro (Windy City)
The more we examine ourselves, or the more we get to the root, the essence, of ourselves, the more we liberate ourselves from our own fear. And due to that our presence automatically liberates others. It’s like turning an opaque, muddy view into a water-like, clear perception.
Your inner child represents your first original self that entered into this world; it contains your capacity to experience wonder, joy, innocence, sensitivity and playfulness – it’s the source of our vitality and creativity.
Genius is nothing more nor less than childhood recovered at will. - Charles Baudelaire
How do you teach values?
Monimo: "Usually the best way for me is when we are playing, because then they are themselves."
Heraclitus: "Man is most nearly himself when he achieves the seriousness of a child at play."
Alan Watts: “This is the real secret of life -- to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play.”
In general, (especially as young bloods), we are learning from the culture in which we’re growing up in two ways simultaneously: listening to that what somebody tells us and imitating actions. We imitate people we feel connected to – parents, grandparents, friends, cool teachers, sources of inspiration like music artists, professional sportsmen, entrepreneurs etc. and also people that genuinely appreciate, respect and encourage us.
A few minutes before I started my bike tour, I popped down at our holy street football court just to see if there are some young bloods kicking it and of course, there were at about 20 people. So, I just wanted to play one game and then start my little journey. I played and man…fortunately following situation arose from that “last game”: One boy missed the goal, the ball was about 30 meters away, he refused to go for the ball and therefore started arguing with the others on the pitch. While they were quarreling with each other about who should go for the ball, I returned the ball. When they realized that, one of them shouted: “Look! He’s about to cycle to fucking Spain and still he went for the ball!” At that moment you could literally hear the collective “click-sound” in their heads because of getting aware of how senseless this arguing shit was. And I bet, that the next time a situation like this one arises, one of them is just gonna go for the ball – just turning a tiny lesson learned into practice. It’s like when you see somebody offering an elderly person a seat in the bus – next time you’ll probably be the one doing that. In that sense, keep imitating.
Like Monimo said: “It’s awesome how kids return you this effort you put into them – they always return it to you – they are very, very grateful.”
When I visited my crazy ass brother Nenad in México he randomly came up with the idea to coach the women's university football team "International Girls" together with him and our friend Leva from the sideline. Of course, I said, “Hell Yeah!” and every time when I sneaked my ass past the security guards of that university I got instant goosebumps because I felt just high of life. That unique opportunity enabled me to get to know so many incredibly beautiful souls and also a girl from Catalonia I had the privilege to spend almost every day with for 7 weeks: Monimo, one of our key players, somehow became my partner in crime and definitely contributed a huge part to that light-hearted life I was and am still living. She made me feel like home in México and I can't really express my gratitude regarding that in a written manner! Connections like this one just make you appreciate life more and more!
Kindness in words creates confidence.
As long as always means now, we learn. As long as learning means listening, we grow. As long as growing means educating ourselves, we create ... we create our soul in the school called life, the school that allows us to be the student and the teacher at the same time.
