Grumpy Old Gay Men and Their Dogs

In this week's episode, Tommie wants his change back, Patrick finds a dog who can now apply to join the FBI, they go droving with the Lancashire Heeler, thank gay advice columnist Dan Savage for the phrase "death grip syndrome," say farewell to actress Eva Marie Saint, remember Matthew Shepard, munch on pumpkin seeds, learn about the phenomenon of headless saints, meet a couple of gay saints, get a measles update, Tommie reviews the novel Sky Full of Elephants, Patrick watches documentaries about October 7 and the Gaza war, Tommie recommends Internet personality Randy Rainbow, they laugh at the Christian YouTube influencer who says he met a testosterone-filled Jesus, and Tommie argues that My Cousin Vinnie is a murder mystery film.

In the second half of this episode, guest JK Larkin reviews the Sally Field film Remarkably Bright Creatures, Tommie thinks octopi are aliens, Tommie reviews the Netflix series Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, Patrick reviews the new South Korean sci-fi horror film Hope, they discuss the Ed Sheeran/Macklemore controversy, shake their heads in wonder at the advertising departments for Converse and Target, laugh at Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville's fear of flying, Tommie introduces a new segment, Tommie gets mad at JK for talking over Julie Andrews, and they name their favorite songs that remind them of summer.

Patrick and Tommie begin their fifth season with returning (but late) guest J.K. Larkin, report on their summer activities, meet the Kanni, hail Roman Emperor Augustus, "Saint" John Coltrane, and icon Ray Charles on their birthdays, Tommie offers unusual condolences to the late Duncan Sheik, Tommie criticizes the camera work in a 1970 episode of the TV drama Medical Center, they celebrate Celebrate Bisexuality Day, listen to Richard Nixon defend his dog Checkers, wonder what virus or disease will break out next, and review President Trump's very busy, not-so-good week. In the second half of this final episode of the season, guest Rosie Collette reviews the new film Obsession, Tommie re-watches the classics All About Eve and A Place In The Sun, Patrick finds some legal problems with the classic film Twelve Angry Men and discovers the Sweat and Spark videos, they discuss cop cam videos and teenage killers, review the many achievements of RuPaul, Tommie and Rosie sing their praises of a local filmmaker named Sid, Tommie explains heterosexual relationships, Tommie take Rosie on a tangential discussion of Princess Diana and the Royal Family, Patrick and Rosie name their favorite alien films, Rosie is scared of Ariana Grande, and Patrick complains about the growing visibility of hate on Long Island as seen on social media. In the first half of this final episode of the season, Patrick and Tommie are joined by friend and returning guest Rosie Collette, who announces she's a Bottom (in a summer Shakespeare production of A Midsummer Night's Dream), she explains the meaning of the word "kief," they meet the Japanese Spitz, dance in the Copacabana with Barry Manilow, say farewell to gay British artist David Hockney, film critic Gene Shalit, and singer Oliver Tree, watch Barbra Streisand perform in Central Park and Zero Mostel perform at the Tony Awards, wash down some apple strudel with root beer, learn that you can sue a ham sandwich, get the facts about Ebola, and review a Long Island town's fuss over flags. In the second half of this episode, Patrick reviews the new film Backrooms and the PBS documentary Exposing The Myth Of Southern Charm, he and Tommie pause for a moment of mockery for the Minnesota Republican Party, agree that George Santos needs to find a legitimate job, laugh at certain state governors for trying to erase LGBTQIA visibility, Tommie explains the Streisand Effect, they spend a lot of time discussing their favorite black singers, and Tommie gripes about Patrick's gripe.

In the first half of this episode, Patrick and Tommie discuss locking one's dog in a car, meet the Irish Red and White Setter, get bewitched by Maurice Evans, go spying with Josephine Baker, howl with Allen Ginsburg, review the two Andys' New Year's Eve shows, celebrate their love for the late Peabo Bryson, rouge their knees and roll their stockings down for the opening night of the original production of the musical Chicago, ride bicycles while debating which part of the egg is the top, face further disappointment from the Supreme Court, review the lawsuit of a man who doesn't want to go to his office during Pride Month, try to keep up with President Trump's financial shenanigans, and confirm they are not appearing at the Freedom250 concerts.
