In a new series of films created in collaboration with Vogue, the charismatic women of the Gucci Bloom family explore empowerment from within themselves, reminiscing on stories of their own personal awakening. Celebrating their strength, power and continued evolution as women, the first films in ‘The Awakening’ series see Florence Welch  and Jodie Turner-Smith in moments of poise and performance, as well as rest and reflection.

Introduced by the voice of Vogue contributor Kathleen Baird-Murray, in the first act Florence Welch describes the realizations that have shaped her creative processes and her personality. Here, we hear Florence speak on her own strength, power and continued evolution. 

For Jodie Turner-Smith, mothering her daughter has been an awakening. Here, she reminisces upon the connectedness she feels with her body and mind since motherhood.

With the launch of their namesake brand Gohar World, artists and sisters Nadia and Laila Gohar propose a new take on tableware. Merging Nadia's practice as a painter and Laila's use of food as a medium to create unique convivial experiences around the world, the duo conceived the concept in 2020 with the intention of bringing magic to everyday moments. 

Gohar World is a tableware universe which celebrates time, tradition, craft, and humor. Rather than setting the table, Gohar dresses the table. Both fanciful and functional, their surrealist home objects are future heirlooms designed in New York and made by family-run ateliers. On this episode, Nadia and Laila talk with academic, critic and broadcaster Shahidha Bari about Gohar World and their capsule collection made exclusively for Vault.

In addition, a percentage of proceeds will go towards helping a Los Angeles elementary school launch a horticultural program for its kids.

CHIME FOR CHANGE is Gucci’s global campaign to strengthen the voices speaking out for gender equality, and in this episode, we have three such individuals in conversation. CHIME’s Advisory Board member Latanya Mapp Frett is joined by South African activist Aweqawe Mda and Lujain Jo, an Iraqi filmmaker now based in Lebanon. Latanya is the President and CEO of the Global Fund for Women, an organization that has been funding gender justice movements for over 30 years, including initiatives that have engaged Aweqawe and Lujain. Together they talk about the importance of funding these movements, the influence they can have in making progress, how art can be used to galvanize communities into taking action, and how progress has different meanings among various communities around the world.
