Metta is a Pali word that means benevolence, kindness, friendship and affection.
This form of meditation is one of the most soothing ways to practice the 4 forms of Love: Friendliness, appreciation and joy, compassion and equanimity.
Metta Meditation is free from any form of expectations. We don't do it to prove a point or accomplishing a goal.
It's just a process to experience and enjoy, starting from and experience of love and compassion to ourselves, and then show the same love and compassion to others as well by offering some loving-kindness affirmation phrases:
May you be happy
May you be healthy
May you be safe
May you be at ease
