I try to be aware of my surroundings because I can find great inspiration and wisdom in some of the oddest places and circumstances.  Such as what we talk about in today's episode...

The decisions we make can really affect our direction and the length of time it takes to reach our musical goals.  In this episode we discuss some of these decisions you'll eventually come across (if you haven't already).

10,000 hours is A LOT of time to invest in your craft.  Have you done it?  Can you do it?  This is what it takes....

I get asked this question quite a bit from students as well as other musicians.  Can you guess what it is?

At times there are certain styles of teaching (or shall I say promises of results made) that I really don't agree with.  Here is just one of them, and why I don't subscribe to this way of thinking or teaching.

We all aspire to be as good or better than our influences.  Well...at least as good or better than our peers and competition, right?  Is it mentally healthy and inspiring for us?  Or does it keep us from reaching our fullest potential.....

As you continue on your adventure of learning and mastering your instrument, you need to maintain focus and study with intention.  It's always a good idea to zoom out every now and again and take a 10,000 foot view of the path you're on.  You must be purposeful in your pursuit of excellence.... Sometimes you need to get out of the forest to see the trees.
