At times there are certain styles of teaching (or shall I say promises of results made) that I really don't agree with. Here is just one of them, and why I don't subscribe to this way of thinking or teaching.
We all aspire to be as good or better than our influences. Well...at least as good or better than our peers and competition, right? Is it mentally healthy and inspiring for us? Or does it keep us from reaching our fullest potential.....
As you continue on your adventure of learning and mastering your instrument, you need to maintain focus and study with intention. It's always a good idea to zoom out every now and again and take a 10,000 foot view of the path you're on. You must be purposeful in your pursuit of excellence.... Sometimes you need to get out of the forest to see the trees.
