And everyone's favorite morning show host, Bill Schulz, returns to explain why Daniel Day Lewis carries the carcass known as Gangs of New York across the finish line. Bill wants to get knuckle deep on the Martin Scorsese film that wrongfully allowed Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz to try out Irish accents for 3 hours. Joining Kevin Gootee is his hirsute pal, Kevin Israel, to see if Bill's disgust for Gangs of NY is real
The boys also discuss the disappointing filmography of Cameron Diaz as well as KGs distaste for Irish folk music. Of course, they also try to figure out how awful everyone in the Five Points must have smelled at that time and why Daniel Day Lewis is the undisputed greatest actor of our time.
Tune in to the latest episode of "Gutting the Sacred Cow" as Bill Schulz takes center stage to argue why "Gangs of New York" isn't as great as it's cracked up to be. Joining hosts Kevin Gootee and Kevin Israel, Bill dives deep into the flaws and shortcomings of this Martin Scorsese classic. From its historical inaccuracies to character development issues, Bill leaves no stone unturned in his detailed critique.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind BANISHED to Area 51 by Chris Woolsey Episode 217 GTSC podcast
Star Wars, Star Trek, 2001 A Space Odyssey arere probably the most influential science fiction films of all time. Chris Woolsey from Crackle returns to take on arguably THE most influential, iconic, and copied sci-film of all time, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Richard Dreyfus stars as one of the worst movie parents/spouses who's more interested in throwing flower pots through windows and making mountains out of mashed potatoes. Chris explains how Steven Spielberg made a truly uninteresting, boring film that's beloved by alien nerds and why this movie is iconic only for the 5 notes.
Spielberg lover Kevin Gootee invited fellow fanboy Kevin Israel back for another round of, "Is this Gutter's argument foolish or are they making sense?" The boys also discuss the list of Spielberg hits and misses as well as how many alien encounters there can be.
Lastly, make SURE you stay for the announcement at the end of the episode, it's a doozy!

BONUS episode: What Did We Watch #38
The GREATEST action hero in the last 25 years is without question, Tom Cruise, had a rare underperforming film with Edge of Tomorrow. It underperformed so much in North America, they changed the title to Live, Die, Repeat which was the title of the Manga comic book/graphic novel/whatever you nerds call it. Alex Hooper loves Tom Cruise films as well as Emily Blunt (and who doesn't?) but he doesn't love the lack of pretext and disjointed plot.
Cruise superfan and Mission Impossible lover, Kevin Gootee, LOVED this film when it came out. Does it stand the test of time unlike his marriage to Katie Holmes, Mimi Rodgers, and Nicole Kidman? Faithful back massager Kevin Israel straps on a mech suit and gets ready for some grab ass good times. The guys discuss where Emily Blunt ranks on the list of female ass kickers/action heroes. And of course, an abundance of Tom Cruise jokes flow. Lastly, the trio lament if Catherine Zeta Jones arching through laser beams was an acceptable excuse for Michael Douglas to get HPV in the throat.

We live in a world that has people find Pixar movies (not including this recent awful batch) overrated and we've now found our 2nd detractor. JL Cauvin returns for the 4th time to share why Inside Out is disappointing and how it's NOT a top tiered Pixar film. JL loves Coco, Toy Story 1-4, and the Incredible to name a few. However, the voice talents of Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, Bill Hader, and Richard Kind as Bing Bong aren't hitting those familiar notes. Sitting in with Kevin Gootee is George Neumann, winner of the gutting contests (Red Dawn and Commando)
The boys also discuss whatever happened to gratuitous nudity in films and what their favorite Pixar/Disney films are. But not in the same conversation cause that's some weird sub Reddit discussion we want no part of. Also, how far has Pixar fallen from grace with their recent string of bombs. Lastly, the fellas discuss the movie moments that never fail to make them tear up.
