Wow! This is the last episode of 2021! How bittersweet. Like every episode though, we give you the best sports coverage that we are capable of. We cover all 5 Christmas and give our thoughts about them. Topics include: is Kemba on the path to returning to his all-star form in Charlotte, did the Bucks win or did the Celtics blow it, can the Suns do anything to get the 1st seed in the West, can the Lakers do anything to actually be decent this year, and is Donovan Mitchell the greatest Jazz player of all-time. Fun fact: the USFL is returning in the spring 2022. We talk about our teams for the upcoming spring league and Alex gives a brief history lesson about the league. For the NFL, the boys review the Week 16 slate of games and try desperately to wrap their head around the playoff tiebreakers. They discuss the Bills big victory against New England, Joe Burrow putting up MVP numbers against the Ravens, the Chargers being absolute FRAUDS, the Steelers sucking and the John Lynch conspiracy. All this and PLENTY more on Gym Class All-Stars!
Everyone is gearing up for the holidays, but the world is regressing a tad. The Omicron variant has been ravaging the world, especially the sports world. Hundreds of players have been put on the Health and Safety Protocol list, and we are back to watching people off the street play NFL and NBA games. NBA teams have signed some former noteworthy players such as Joe Johnson, Mac McClung and of course Lance Stephenson. So many people are being signed that maybe I should throw my name out there for a 10-day. For football, we run through the Week 15 slate and answer some burning questions. Who is the MVP frontrunner, are the Bucs finished for 2021, and who is going to win the mess that is the AFC North. We also give our playoff predictions and our betting choices for Week 16 of the NFL season. All this and more on this episode of Gym Class All-Stars!
After an exciting weekend, the boys are back with yet another episode! For college football, the most anticipated game of the year happened on Saturday and it was a real barn burner. Navy stunned Army and beat them 17-13. Bryce Young deservingly won the Heisman award and we ponder if any team should draft him before Aidan Hutchinson in the 2022 NFL Draft. For basketball, Kyrie may actually end up playing some games for the Nets, Damian Lillard is staying Portland, Ben Simmons may FINALLY actually get traded, are the Bucks currently equipped to go back-to-back and our thoughts if Zion will play another game for the Pelicans. For football, we cover weeks 13 and 14 and their major storylines. These include the incompetency of Urban Meyer, Chase Claypool and the Bills. We also discuss which coaches are on the hot seat, if the Chargers are legitimate playoff contenders and if Micah Parsons can win the DPOY despite being a rookie. All this and more on this episode of Gym Class All-Stars. Give it a listen and help us hit a major podcasting download milestone before the end of the year!!! You probably thought that we wouldn't have another episode out for weeks. However, Alex and Robby do what is needed for the fans. They are back to bring you some key events that happened this past week. Plenty of conference championship game drama on Saturday and then on Sunday, the top 25 rankings for College Football were released. The key point: the committee released the four College Football Playoff Teams. The boys discuss the teams, and give their predictions on who will win the NCAA championship. The MLB has entered a lockout and we discuss what that means for the players and more importantly, what that means for us as fans.. For basketball, should the Pacers blow up their roster and how can the Heat improve with Bam Adebayo being out for 4+ weeks. Finally for football, Gardner Minshew is back in action as the Eagles QB while Jalen Hurts is injured, Big Ben may actually call it quits after this year and which coaches should be fired at the conclusion of this season. All this and more on this episode of Gym Class All-Stars!
After a three week hiatus, millions of tech issues (I HATE ZOOM), and eating way too much food, the boys are back with a much anticipated sequel Mega Episode!! First and foremost, we discuss the many different conference championship scenarios, and who we think will end up making the College Football playoff. The MLB season may be over, but Free Agency has kicked off with a resounding boom. Millions of dollars being thrown around. Scherzer, Seager, Robbie Ray and Wander Franco have already gotten PAID and it's only been a few hours. Teams are making moves to set themselves up for success. We discuss the two MVP winners and the two Cy Young winners and how deserving they each were of the awards. Brief quarter season update for the NBA and of course FOOTBALL. The boys cover the last three weeks of action and where each playoff contender stands. Alex and Robby discuss why the AFC is so inconsistent, can the Patriots actually make a deep run without Tom Brady, are the Rams frauds and whether Ben Roethlisberger will actually retire at the end of the season. With baseball over and College Football not yet in full playoff mode, the boys do a deep dive into the NBA and NFL. This includes topics such as the Morris/Jokic scuffle, the Warriors hot start, talk about if the Hawks need to retool their team and even reminisce about their rec basketball days. For football, we review the Week 9 slate of games. This includes disappointment from the Bills who LOST to the freaking Jaguars, the Eagles who lost another heartbreaking game to the Chargers, and the Steelers getting bailed out by the refs. We also discuss the Rams forming an even more formidable Super Team with the signing of OBJ and what this means for the rest of the league. We also discuss the Cam Newton signing and if the Panthers can even sniff the playoffs this year. Finally, we give our predictions for the Week 10 slate of games as unbiased as possible (well... kinda). Thanks for listening! Subscribe, share and tell a friend!
What an eventful week for sports! The Braves won the World Series, much to the chagrin of us Phillies fans, the NBA is back and full of drama (s/o Ben Simmons) and the NFL had yet another letdown of a trade deadline. This week, the boys discuss the World Series and how the MLB can make baseball more exciting. For College Football, Cincinnati got shafted again in the standings, but do Alex and Robby think they actually have a chance to make the playoffs? Also, why the hell is Michigan ranked 8th? That's garbage to be honest. Basketball is here and unfortunately for Alex, the Heat are red hot which means Robby will keep bringing them up. Is this run sustainable or is it just a fluke? Finally for football, the Rams have gone all in on a Super Bowl this year, OBJ's future in Cleveland is in severe doubt and Carson Wentz is a miserable QB. We predict the slate of week 9 games with such precision that it would make a sharp cry. All this and more on this week of Gym Class All-Stars!
On this week's episode of Gym Class All-Stars, the boys discuss the CFB playoff projections. In essence, how is Cincinnati going to get screwed out of a playoff spot (and how is Michigan going to blow it). The NBA is finally back and the Ball Brothers are off to a HOT start for their respective teams. Can they keep it up and have actual playoff success this season? The World Series is also here. Alex and Robby may have been totally wrong on the two teams who would make it, but they are as relieved as ever that it is not the Red Sox. They recap the MLB playoffs so far and give their pick who will win it all. For football, the boys recap Week 6 & 7 and give their betting picks for week 8. Questions such as Is Ja'Marr Chase the runaway OROTY, can Derrick Henry win the MVP and will the Chiefs continue to be the most overrated team in football will be answered?
