Yeeeeee (wait for it) HAWWWW!!! Hello everyone and welcome back to yet another episode of Gym Class All-Stars. Plenty of discussion in this episode! The MLB playoffs are almost here and the Phillies have a chance (that they'll probably blow)! Ben Simmons has publicly stated that he wants out of Philly but the Warriors refuse to take him and Alex concocts a trade that make the Kings suck less and the Mavs better than a first round playoff exit. Finally for football, the boys recap the Week 2 slate of games, and give their predictions for Week 3. We discuss how all the 2021 1st round QBs look like busts, if the Chiefs are in trouble after losing to the Ravens and if we can truly believe in the Eagles and the Steelers as contenders. We end the show with a Kitchen debate. The boys debate "who is the current most athletic football player". Robby takes on the argument with Kyler Murray while Alex... well you should probably listen because it's pretty bizarre. All this and more on this week's episode Gym Class All Stars!! Subscribe if you haven't already (please)
Welcome back ladies and gentlemen! As always, Alex and Robby are here to give you all the happenings in the world of sports. They discuss the upsets in the last week of college football (Go Hawkeyes), the red-hot Blue Jays, and all of the recent Basketball Hall of Fame inductees. Week 1 in the NFL came and went and it was AWESOME! The boys go over each of the 16 games in week 1, predict the week 2 games and play a new game called "do you buy it". Alex pitches some teams that looked good in week 1 and the tandem debates if people should buy into them being a legitimately good team. All this and more (including plenty of laughs) on this episode of Gym Class All-Stars!
*deep breath* FOOTBALL IS BACK BABY!!! Before we get to that, we have to bring you all the happenings in the wide world of sports. The boys talk about a few minor trades and signings in the NBA including Jahlil Okafor somehow ending back up on the Nets and the Lakers somehow getting another veteran free agent for pennies on the dollar. For baseball, Alex pleads with the Phillies to not blow this incredible chance to make the playoffs and then debates with Robby which team will have the least amount of wins to end the season (Orioles or Diamondbacks). Finally, we are way too excited that football is back so we decided to bring out two segments. First, the boys recap the last bit of preseason news and give their predictions for the Week 1 slate of games. Finally, they do the first ever "Time Capsule Picks". These picks will NOT be talked ever again, UNTIL the end of the season. The boys give their picks for MVP, Bad boy of the Year, and Overrated and Underrated team of the year. All this and more on this episode of Gym Class All-Stars!!
Okay... I know what you're thinking. You're probably wondering why we said we were sticking to a strict upload schedule and then went on a two week hiatus. Well, life happens and we needed some time to relax. Plus, not much has really happened in the sports world. However, WE ARE BACK with a brand new episode!! The boys discuss Rondo resigning with the Lakers, the update on the Ben Simmons trade saga, and if Isiah Thomas will get signed by a team. On the topic of baseball, the Phillies are back to being ice cold, nobody can stop the Rays and the Giants, and Alex and Robby fantasize about a Red Sox vs Yankees wild card game. For futbol (see what I did there), the boys do their best to discuss the Messi and Ronaldo signings and what that means for the Champions League. Finally for football (American this time), Alex and Robby rip apart the top 10 players list the NFL put out, go through some of the latest preseason news and break down each of the 8 divisions and give their predictions who will win each division and who is going to make a run at the Wild Card spots. As always plenty of laughs and even more analysis on this episode of Gym Class All-Stars! If you're reading this and got this far, please tweet @robbygew and say "I can't believe you didn't know Peter Parker is Spider-Man".
With a bit of time before the NFL season gets under the way, Alex and Robby decided to celebrate the one year anniversary of Gym Class All-Stars, the only way they know how: by telling embarrassing stories about each other! This episode discusses stories such as homecoming, prom, bad movie bday parties, and plenty of New Years shenanigans. The boys also delve into personal superlatives such as their favorite foods, favorite shows, and all-time favorite personal sports moments. If you want to learn more about the voices behind this critically acclaimed podcast (5.0 stars on Apple... just saying) then give it a listen, and maybe come back for the sports episodes.
Ahh yes. Listen... I know we promised a more consistent upload schedule. It happens!! We got busy. Regardless, Alex and Robby are back with a BANGER of an episode. The boys go over all of the NBA free agency moves this far. They discuss the Lakers stacked and cheap roster, the Bulls making some questionable moves and the Heat making moves to be a top 3 team in the East. After the in-depth analysis, the boys dive into the wonderful world of football. We've all been sucked into a fantasy football league where money is on the line, so Alex and Robby give you their tips and tricks to win your league! They discuss overrated and underrated players, who their first choice of WR, RB and QB are, and some players poised for a breakout fantasy year. All this and more (including a great Alex story to start the show) on this episode of Gym Class All-Stars!!
Looks like we've hit another milestone here at Gym Class All-Stars. We have as many episodes as the U.S has states. Suck on that North Dakota! Anyways, we're back (and sticking to our schedule finally) with all the happenings in the wide world of sports. First and foremost, what an awesome MLB trade deadline!! We cover all the biggest trades and the implications on the rest of the league. And trust me, there are A LOT. For football, Carson Wentz is hurt (again), Aaron Rodgers is back and did not hold back (wow it rhymes) about Packers management and football is almost back till February!! Finally for the NBA, Alex and Robby recap the NBA draft, give their picks for the winners and losers of the draft and highlight a few players they are excited for. In addition, they discuss Russell Westbrook being traded to the Lakers and some of the impending free agents. All this and more on your favorite sports podcast!
Would you look at that! The boys finally got back to their normal schedule. We are back to releasing the podcast on a Monday now, but we shall see how long that lasts. This week, the boys go over the aftermath of the 2021 NBA finals. Questions such as "is Giannis the best player on the planet", "where will Bradley Beal end up" and "are there any other worthwhile draft picks besides Cade Cunningham" are all answered on this episode. Despite the fact the season is not here yet, there is still a decent amount of football discussion. Chandler Jones wants out of Arizona, DeAndre Hopkins may retire over having to wear a mask, and it seems like the Packers may be about to have their own Last Dance. Finally, it is the culmination of our 5 week mini-series. Alex and Robby discuss the top 10 current NBA players. While there is some agreeance, there are a ton of discrepancies between the two co-hosts so if you like spirited debates, this is the episode for you. As always, plenty of jokes, a few laughs and some good analysis. Don't forget to subscribe and show your friends, otherwise Alex and Robby won't be able to eat this month.
Alexa! Play We're Back by the Lonely Island! After a brief two week hiatus, your favorite sports podcast is back with another episode. We recap the finals, break down what the Bucks have been doing right against the Suns and debate if Chris Paul choked in his first finals appearance. For football (finally some football news), we discuss Aaron Rodgers either hating the Packers or wanting MORE money, how fake the reports about Tom Brady's MCL are and who will replace Cam Akers for the Rams. In the world of baseball, Alex and Robby recap All-Star weekend, the Phillies getting hot finally and the trade deadline. To finish off the show, the boys discuss their picks for the top 20-11 NBA players. Robby gets angry at Alex for being stubborn, Alex gets mad at Robby for being stupid... you know the drill. As always, lots of laughs, jokes and some pretty good analysis so make sure to subscribe and share with your friends!! It's still cool to like our show since we're not popular (yet).
Despite the fact we are about to reach the most boring 6 weeks of the calendar year for sports, the boys are back, optimistic and ready to discuss all the happenings in the world of the sport. Alex and Robby complain about some of the All-Star picks (like how did Aroldis Chapman make it, geez) and talk about the Trevor Bauer situation and what it means for baseball. Next, they touch upon the NHL and how the Lightning are building a true dynasty down in Florida. Finally, the boys did a NBA finals game 1 recap, roast the new NBA logo and yet again get contentious between their picks for their top 30-21 NBA players. Lots of jokes, lots of laughs yet again! Make sure you subscribe so you don't miss an episode!
