Gyrl… this week we actually got to hang out in person while Lonnita was working in Nashville, and it was exactly the kind of time we needed. Between great food, lots of laughs, and prepping for the bad weather headed toward both of our cities, we soaked up every moment together.

We’re so glad to be back behind the mic and sharing a little bit of our lives with you again. In this episode, we give a short recap of what we’ve been up to so far this year, along with a few highlights from the end of last year.

We also talk about our five (or so 😉) non-negotiables as we move forward—what we’re prioritizing, protecting, and committing to in this next season of life. There’s a bit of TV talk too (we’ve mostly been playing catch-up), but more than anything, this episode is about reconnecting.

We kick things off with our weekend (and full-week) recap. Kristian had some top-tier daddy–daughter bonding time — the kind that warms your heart and also makes you question your entire emotional availability. Meanwhile, Lonnita lived through a week that can only be described as: “Absolutely Not, But Somehow Yes.” She tried to relax… and we’re using “relax” very loosely.

This holiday week, we spent some much-needed time together — and the food did not disappoint.

After-Thanksgiving shopping was supposed to be calm… but somehow we ended up on a full-blown “Treat Yourself Tour.” Christmas décor? Bought. Zara? Raided. Ulta, TJ Maxx, Trader Joe’s? - Conquered. Sprouts? — all in the noble pursuit of the legendary Lucy Glo apples. (Yes, we’re those people now.)

We didn’t watch much TV, but we did squeeze in a couple of movies — where we discovered that the “cheap movie date” is dead. Long gone. Buried. Popcorn now requires a small loan and maybe a co-signer.

Hot topics were slim, but spicy:

• And from a mother’s perspective: college drinking — was I surprised? Absolutely not. Did I expect it? Oh, 100%.

Plus, we’re talking about why Target still has our hearts (and our wallets) while Walmart’s officially out of the rotation.

On the TV front, there’s so much to watch right now! From Kim Kardashian’s new show All’s Fair and the return of The Kardashians, to our latest obsession with FBI (we’re rooting for Jubal to get that A-Dic spot!) and the drama unfolding on Doc, we’ve got plenty to discuss.

Whew, it’s been a week! We’ve got a full recap for you — one pet decided to go missing for three days (yes, three), the other flat-out refused to take a bath, and in between all that, there were car issues and some fabulous finds while doing what was supposed to be “necessary” shopping.
